I know. The wisecracks have long been out there: ‘Mango Mussolini’, ‘Tangerine Idi Amin’ etc. I regularly call him a ‘flaming orange human shaped rectum.’ Nothing wrong with that kind of thing continuing since bullies and dictators HATE being made fun of. However the stuff mentioned above is mostly background noise in the sh*t-show circus Trump foments. A breakthrough is needed and Lewis Black offered a solution that had it been used in 2016 would have ended Trump in the primaries.
What we need in the aftermath of Senator Booker’s epic Senate speech is an organized strategy by PROMINENT Democrats to do what his rivals didn’t back in that fateful primary. Whenever asked about the latest Trump “crazy” bluntly state something along the lines of ‘This is a guy who every day PAINTS HIS FACE ORANGE!’ Followed by ‘How can anyone pay attention, much less take seriously or believe what a guy who paints his face orange says?’
Pundits need to get in on the action too. What Trump does with the whole orange face thing is NOT normal. He looks like an ass-clown and not just Americans but the whole world, both friend (said friendship is fading but it’s still there) and foe see it and leaders and news people ignore it. Well, they shouldn’t. Of course, we sometimes see pics of Trump on the golf course sans the caked on orange makeup and he often looks ghastly. So I get his wanting to wear makeup and given how often he gets himself on camera it’s natural I guess for him to just start each day applying some so he’s always ‘camera ready.’ Still, that caked on at Tammy Faye Bakker level ugly ORANGE? What’s up with THAT being the chosen color? I can’t help but wonder if there’s something going on with Trump’s health that that’s the only color they could find that could hide a significant medical condition.
In any case, today was the “bigly” Tariff Day. As the day went on there was much speculation about his planned 4pm Rose Garden (for now – he’s going to turn it into a paved area) announcement. Apparently the Executive Order was still being refined during the day. However, as this article from Raw Story tells us the time came and Trump ‘brought the crazy’ for all to see and hear. It was as you’d expect full of historical inaccuracies and outright lies. Just like we expected. And going back to my theme, what the hell else would one expect from a man who PAINTS HIS FACE ORANGE every day?
I swear, every journalist (normal, non Fox & other RWNJ ones) should say of today’s Trump ‘lesson’, and frankly every elected Democratic leader should preface their reaction to it all with the words ‘Donald Trump, who by the way PAINTS HIS FACE ORANGE’ said such and such’ before delving into the details of how full of sh*t Trump was. And this should happen every single day because not a day goes by where Trump doesn’t tell a whopper of a lie (usually multiple ones) or say/do something stupid. The famous folks should continue to avoid the snarky nicknames I cited earlier. Just stick with repeatedly pointing out we have a President who PAINTS HIS FACE ORANGE and that that’s not normal just might break through.
It might make people think. It is NOT normal. And this dude is freaking President of the United States. So without being snarky simply point out the obvious – we don’t have a President who wears makeup so he looks okay on camera (after all they do too) but he has chosen day after day, year after year to paint his face ORANGE! WTF? Of course Trump would go batshit insane and so would much of the GOP. So what? As I said dictators and wannabe dictators HATE being made fun of, even in a serious way. One can only wonder what Marco Rubio who Trump tagged as “Little Marco” back in 2016 would think if this caught on. As Lewis Black says in the clip I’ll conclude with NOT ONE of his rivals on the debate stage said ‘Dude – you paint your face orange!’ Had just one of them done so Trump’s reaction would have had all of them joining in and that would have been the end of Trump in elective politics.
I say better late than never. It is soooooooo ridiculous that no one with a real voice wants to state this obvious point about how ridiculous Trump looks with that ORANGE face. We can fix that. The fact is Trump is wounded right now. Not crippled, or down on the ground bleeding and curled up in a ball wounded but he IS wounded. He’s running into more resistance from the courts than he anticipated. SignalGate, which he could have made into a one or two day story by sacking Waltz and Hegseth is still ongoing. And GROWING. Republicans that have still got the guts to show up at town halls are getting sh*t-hammered by constituents and attempts to paint is all as ‘outside agitators’/Democratic operatives’ have become half-hearted and fallen flat.
Democrats themselves have faced angry constituents who demand much more fight and pushback than has been the case. Senator Booker stood up for over 24 record setting hours and delivered an epic takedown of Trump. And the GOP that has supported him for whatever reason. As I wrote last night it’s OUR turn. We need to show Booker we’ve got his back. And I say a great way to do that is start hammering on social media the so obvious fact that our President looks like a clown because HE PAINTS HIS FACE ORANGE! More importantly we need to include both in such comments on blogs like this, platforms like twitter/X, Bluesky, FaceBook/Meta etc. this truth that gets treated like in Harry Potter fearing to say the bad guy’s name – saying ‘He who shall not be named’ instead of saying ‘Voldemort.’ When the characters started saying his name they grew bolder.
I’ve said before I’m a luddite when it comes to social media. I never learned to fully use FB features. With twitter/X I can read tweets and copy & paste them to articles I write – at least if they have a video. If not I can’t even do that. And I can’t figure out how to enter a comment on someone else’s tweet. I also don’t (yet) have an account on Bluesky. I need to learn to use these platforms properly. However, millions of people out there can do what I’m too clueless to do – make comments on the accounts of our elected officials, and for now more importantly journalists and pundits. Ask THEM why NO ONE points out the fact we have a President that PAINTS HIS FACE ORANGE? Really. Even before they became afraid of him this seemed pretty obvious.
I sure as hell wish I’d seen Black’s routine years ago. I only found it recently when looking up a routine that I tried to turn into a story on a different subject but I digress. The journalists/pundits and politicians need to have us regular folks creating a groundswell on social media about the fact TRUMP PAINTS HIS FACE ORANGE! Along with the question what is wrong with him that he does that? How can we have a President who intentionally looks like a clown on TV for all the world to see? Why would ANYONE take a person who does such a thing as paint their face ORANGE every day seriously? If I knew how that’s what I’d have spent much of MY day doing. Posting that on the accounts of the groups I mentioned!
So we need to create an environment, and also contact our elected leaders directly to encourage them to state the fact we have a President who PAINTS HIS FACE ORANGE! Think about it folks. It’s a variation on the old ‘The Emperor has no clothes!’ tale. Let’s open some eyes by pointing out this FREAKISH Trump action on a regular basis. I swear it will make even some conservatives stop taking him seriously. If it drives him crazy to the point of a mental meltdown so bad his cabinet has to invoke the 25th Amendment so be it. Vance would present his own set of problems to deal with BUT from the outset he’d face challengers who’d look to take him on in 2028.
I mentioned Lewis Black and wanted to include a clip of him making the point I’ve raised. He starts out talking about not wanting to dwell on Trump because he didn’t like any of Trump’s predecessors either. Well, of course they all did things that merit criticism. Humans, even those with good hearts/intentions screw up. However the job of a satirist/humorist is to skewer and Black has never spared anyone. So he dealt for a bit with Trump. I too feel like Black – an idiot for not recognizing this sooner. That’s why I say enough with the snarky nicknames and encourage people with voices that will get attention pointing out over and over again he freaking paints his face ORANGE!
