What the hell is this, the Trump shopping network? He got a great deal at $9.99 each? He has a great deal on death? Does it include a crypt? This is wretched, and the fact that this was said should repulse us all. Got a great deal for their lives. Maybe he’s learning to become a game show host when he’s out of the office, unless he’s dead, so it will be a great deal for his life. From Raw Story:
President Donald Trump responded to the death of three U.S. service members by bragging he got a “great deal” in the war that ended their lives. On Sunday, U.S. Central Command confirmed that three members of the armed forces had been killed in action during Operation Epic Fury against Iran.
I could just spit. He’s the “leader” of our country, and he makes a statement like that. It may make sense in his head, but it doesn’t to the rest of us. Okay, it might make sense to Putin, Orban, and the other dictators who rule their people with an iron fist. Possibly, Trump has a new “Art Of The Steal” coming out. He’s stealing our servicemembers’ lives. “Epic Fury” remains laughable.
“Several others sustained minor shrapnel injuries and concussions — and are in the process of being returned to duty. Major combat operations continue, and our response effort is ongoing,” CENTCOM said in a statement. “The situation is fluid, so out of respect for the families, we will withhold additional information, including the identities of our fallen warriors, until 24 hours after next of kin have been notified.”
Well, at least someone is doing something right. We hope he doesn’t give their names to Trump because then it will be *everywhere*. Give the families some privacy and peace. Do something right, for once. Give them the time they need. Three people are coming home in caskets. Let’s not be dicks and shove cameras and microphones in front of their faces. Back off, media.
Trump responded to NBC several hours later. “We expect casualties with something like this,” the president said. “We have three, but we expect casualties – but in the end it’s going to be a great deal for the world.”
That last line made me about blow my stack. A great deal for the world? How? Enlighten us, oh orange tin god with feet of clay!! Please bestow your wisdom on the masses! *gag* The least he could do would be send his regards to the families. He won’t, because they’re losers and suckers. I hope someone slaps him in the face with that phrase. I also hope they earned Purple Hearts, even posthumously. I’m not certain how that works. They deserve that much, at least, in Trump’s War. It really is Trump’s War. And it will NOT get him a Peace Prize.

It is so crude, immature, and tone-deaf to describe ANY loss of life -let alone life lost in service to your country – as a ‘bargain’ or a ‘deal’. It’s like equating the death of anyone as some sort of business expense, some sort of ledger entry, some book-keeping note to be offset later.
It’s not.
It should be, if it happens, a precious human life sacrificed for a noble ideal, not some nobody being crushed in the machinations of self-serving politicians.
It is a COST, but never a ‘bargain’ or a ‘deal’.
Only the most crass or ignorant imbecile would describe it like that.
