Apparently, tRump has never given up his dream of owning Greenland. Too bad it’s not for sale and not for him. He keeps trying to ingratiate himself to them, but they can see right through the façade and Are Not Interested. Greenland’s Prime Minister has told The Confused Carrot *multiple* times that the answer is no. No, no, NO. “Greenland is ours. We are not for sale and will *never* be for sale. We must not lose our struggle for freedom.” The Prime Minister of Denmark said that “Greenland is not for sale”.
“President-elect Trump has refused to commit to avoiding use of military to take control of Greenland.” This slots right in with him trying to take control of the Panama Canal, all of which are independent entities and are not a part of the United States, nor will they ever BE a part of the United States. He has been told that they are glad there is more American interest in Greenland, but stressed that everyone needs to respect the wishes of the people there.
Both Panama and Denmark are allies of the US, with Denmark also being a member of NATO. The latest in the “war of words”: Greenlandic Prime Minister said on Facebook: “Let me repeat it: Greenland belongs to the Greenlanders. Danes, Americans, and everyone else can have opinions, but we should not be caught up in hysteria and pointing fingers towards others. Our future is ours and must be shaped by us.” Both the Danish government and the government of the Greenland autonomy have publicly rejected tRump’s proposal to buy the area.
It seems to me that The Orange Baby Balloon won’t take no for an answer even if you drop a wrecking ball on him. He has tried and tried and tried again, and the answer has been a firm and emphatic NO Every. Single. Time. It also seems that his “normal” (heh) worldview continues on with this in that he believes no one can nay-say him – that they should be honored by the attention he is giving them. Well, no still means NO in more ways than one. And he’s started in with the threats. Really? Fighting against an ally? His megalomaniacal musings never came to anything, and likely won’t this time, either. Well, we can hope. He’ll have a lot more to worry about as of January 20. What a bunch of hooey.
But then he sends Don Jr over for a visit. Wut? Talk about a bad choice to represent the US. The man is not well spoken and has a drug habit. We hope he realizes that Greenland has the wrong kind of snow for him. Here is part of the article.
“In a press release, Jensen said, “Although Trump knows that Greenland is not for sale, we would like to emphasize that Trump is more than welcome to visit Greenland, and that we at Siumut are also open to visiting him in the United States.” According to fellow DRTV reporter Steffen Kretz, Don Jr.’s visit to Greenland shows that the U.S. president-elect “is sending a much clearer signal than when he said that the United States should just buy Greenland.”
“The visit comes as voices in Greenland are becoming increasingly vocal in their long-held desire for independence,” Kretz explains. “This is combined with a new American desire, expressed by incoming President Trump, who has shown some thoughts on a way to expand American reach and presence in the world. For example, he has suggested that the United States should take control of the Panama Canal. He has also said that Canada should be part of the United States. And he has mentioned that Greenland should fall under the American national security umbrella.”
That’s just a wordy way to say the Orange Bonehead is still trying to find a way to buy it. They are dancing between the lines by being polite but it’s not going to change the fact that Greenland is NOT. FOR. SALE. And it will NEVER *be* for sale. Someone from Greenland could walk up to him and slap him across the face and he STILL wouldn’t acknowledge that no means no. What a bunch of idiocy. But then, we never said the Orangutan was smart.
