I get it that a lot of outlets are jumping the gun and calling both Georgia and North Carolina for Donald Trump. All I’m going to say are two things: 1. Beware of red mirages and 2. Stay grounded in solid statistics. By solid statistics we mean: what percentage of the vote has been counted, what remains to be counted, how the current count compares with 2020. 2020 is history. So by comparing where things are in a given state (particularly swing states) we can see how close we are to where we were when last that state was won or lost. All that said, here’s a hopeful sign from Georgia.

Now, a lot can still happen. But this is a good sign. Most of the votes have been counted. Harris is way ahead. Not saying that she can’t still lose Georgia. Rather, I’m saying that we have to focus on what is hopeful and not get carried away with people calling these races too early.
Right now the best estimates I am able to find are saying that the election won’t be called until Thursday or Friday. Yes, I want to scream and tear my hair out, too. But if that’s how it’s going to be, that’s how it’s going to be.
One very hopeful sign: Donald Trump hasn’t come forward to open his mouth yet to declare victory. Now, it is only 11:00 p.m. on the east coast. And last election, 2020, he declared victory at about 2:30 a.m. So he may do the same thing in the early hours of Wednesday or he may not. And in 2020, when Trump did declare he had won, the vote had not yet been decided in Michigan, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Georgia, or Nevada. So his comments were so out of line, but for him the out of line is totally in tune with who he is.
So take each piece of information as you get it and be patient. There is no way to hurry this process. But this statistic above is a good one and it may turn out to be determinative.

From what I’m seeing on msnbc, across the board, the orange blob is out performing his performance last election while VP Harris is under performing what President Biden did last election, both by about 1-1.5. No blue wave for sure. I think it shows that yes, she ran a great election, but people are prejudiced against women and women of color. Democrats need to try harder and do better. When they lose the Latino vote after all that has been said by the shithead wannabe tyrant, there is a problem. I understand it, I work with many of them. But still…
I never wanted to stress this but Hispanic/latino is very diverse. A lot of immigrants and those born here are Protestant leaning and follow the gospel of prosperity. The catholic… reactionary. Even though the republican autopsy after Obama won said they needed to include some folks, they didn’t but yet attracted 🤷🏽♂️🤦🏻♂️
I guess the only democracy that truly exist is death. The rest is an exhibit of tens of thousands of years of human arrogance, stupidity, greed, and violence. The fact of where we are at 12:17am EST with Trump ahead is a testament of the moral and intellectual rot in our culture.
