Donald Trump must have gotten off the phone with Mike Lindell, is my best guess here. Because he is talking major, whacky, hallucinatory, delusion-level stuff. He just posted on Truth Social what a good thing yesterday’s indictment (and we presume, tomorrow’s appearance before the Magistrate) will be in order to further his cause. Whut? Precisely?
While I’m no defender of Mike Pence, and certainly no fan, I will give him credit for not getting roped into this insane conspiracy of Trump’s. Unfortunately, by doing the actual job he was elected to do, no more no less, he’s now a pariah in MAGA world.
Trump stood there in the Ellipse and made Mike Pence a scapegoat. “If only Mike Pence does the right thing.” What Trump meant was “my thing” Pence did do the right thing, so Trump’s prayer was answered.
Hillary Clinton called Trump’s cult “deplorables.” They’re more than that. The hard core MAGAs are degenerates. They’re ignorant and they put emotion above reason, just like a 2-year-old. Yet somehow they, and a bunch of deluded Republicans, put this creature in the White House.
We cannot have this madness in our politics. As you know, the Fitch rating reduced the credit rating of the United States from AAA to AA+. This is a response to the chaos in our politics. People are not blind and serious people can see the lunacy of the political scene in 2023.
My hat is off to our wonderful president, Joe Biden, fighting the good fight and in the ninth decade of his life, no less. Good for him. May America have the collective good sense to hang on to what we’ve got and not go back into the sheer madness that the Trump years were. Or we are done. This isn’t just another election, this one is existential.
It’s so nice to be at the end of Trump’s ‘f**king around’ stage and arrive at the start of the ‘find out’ stage.
“We cannot have this madness in our politics. As you know, the Fitch rating reduced the credit rating of the United States from AAA to AA+. This is a response to the chaos in our politics. People are not blind and serious people can see the lunacy of the political scene in 2023.”
It’s kind of a pity that the MAGAts who were involved with Jan 6 didn’t have their own credit ratings affected in a similar manner. If the various services that review credit ratings could’ve identified each individual who was on the Capitol grounds and then illegally entered the Capitol building and then put a 20 or 25-point hit on those people’s credit ratings, those morons might’ve really understood the gravity of what they’d done. (Maybe just slashing their number in half would’ve really put the “fear of Jesus/God” in their lives. Say, a 720 credit rating before and a 360 after.)
I’ve got a feeling though that what Fitch did will mean absolutely nothing to the average MAGAt. (I’m really surprised that Fitch didn’t knock the rating back in the summer of 2017; it’s not like Trump and his “brand” weren’t already an attack on the US economic and political system that early.)
I wonder when (or if) he’s going to realise that none of the indictments are ‘fake’ – they’re all real, VERY real
“[T]he Fitch rating reduced the credit rating of the United States from AAA to AA+. This is a response to the chaos in our politics.”
No, it’s a reminder to the repubs that they should be focusing on austerity measures…like cutting SS and Medicare. Policies that the US isn’t ready for. Wall St’s telling the pols to focus on that, not trump’s madness.
Remember, Fitch claimed the US had no corruption to speak of. So, trump isn’t an important problem, to the rating agencies. Getting capitalists’ hands on all of that gov’t social services $$ is what counts.
That is what Fitch’s shtick is all about. At least that’s what I think.
