German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has rejected “outside” interference in the country’s elections, insisting that Germans would decide their democracy for themselves, thank you, as he hit back at comments made by Vance the day before. And what in the hell was Vance doing with that speech, anyhow? Nothing like pissing off half the world.
It should have been about brokering peace with Russia and Ukraine. That’s what they were expecting, and hoping, I would think, to hear. Instead, it was a lecture as if they were bad three-year-olds with Papa Vance telling them what to do, and making it obvious that the US only cares about itself now. By the way, I saw a bit of news about the speech, and Moscow LOVED IT. Good job, boyo. And bonus – following his speech he spoke with Alice Weidel of the AfD, the anti-immigration, hard right group (the one that Elon spoke at a rally for) for about 30 minutes regarding the Ukraine war and German politics. Even better.
Scholz made it clear that he rejected the VP’s comments and that they would not accept foreign interference in its domestic politics. A commitment to “never again” cannot be reconciled with support for the AfD. Gee, ya think??!! “We will not accept outsiders intervening in our democracy, in our elections, in the democratic formation of opinion in favour of this party,” he continued, adding that that should especially not happen “among friends and allies.”
Scholz’s center-left party, as well as Germany’s other mainstream parties, have ruled out working with the AfD in what’s become known as a firewall. He also predicted that the future Berlin government might ease on the “debt brake” in order to be able to work on their defense and security. In addition, they have already reached NATO’s 2% level on defense, which, of course, is far short of tRump’s demand of 5%.
So get the idea, JD – Germany is doing just fine by itself. After all, they’re adults there. Your lecture did nothing but piss them off and make Germany substantially less likely to ever work with the US again. And that’s probably the reaction of the rest of the countries at the conference. Well done, you idiot, well done. I hope that’s what you wanted to achieve because I’m 99% sure you did.

Now that both VPs, Musk & Vance, have sucked up to the neo-Nazis in Germany, there will be no more illusions in Europe about the American policies to follow. There will be no policies based on reason or intelligence, nor on any comprehension of world affairs or alliances. All policies will stem from one thing: money for the oligarchs.
