Well, he’s in good company, after all. It’s quite a privilege to join because Trump doesn’t choose random people. No, the ones on the list are people, thus far, that Trump absolutely detests for what they did years ago. So there actually are a tiny bit of Trump’s brain cells that are still hanging in there. He’s just getting going on Mr. Newsom. Considering Trump’s only been in his second term for a year and 4 months, that’s actually quick for him. With gratitude for Raw Story:
The Trump administration has opened a criminal probe into California Gov. Gavin Newsom and his wife, the governor announced on Monday. According to The New York Times, a source close to the probe “said there were multiple federal investigations underway related to the governor, including one looking at his wife’s finances,” and that federal law enforcement officials in California, rather than Trump appointees in D.C., opened the investigation “based on government witnesses offering information there.”
Sooooo, guessing they’re not allowed to know the *reason* for the investigation? Lack of law experience is showing. Probably not until they bring charges, if they do. It’s good that Mr. Newsom is occasionally arrogant. And he loves busting on Trump, so he should come through this first part okay. The rest of us would probably be nervous wrecks. Or not. Limited perspective here. One would think that being the basis for a criminal investigation would generate some concern, at the very least. Moving on to the next quote now.
In a video statement released on Monday, Newsom, who has become notorious for his social media postings mocking the president, attacked the probe as a politically motivated fishing expedition to try to gin up charges against a political rival, noting that he has often been floated as a presidential contender for 2028. “Donald Trump isn’t just coming after me because of my mean Tweets,” said Newsom. “He’s coming after me because I am considering running for President. Because he hates that I’ve consistently called him out – over and over again – for his lies and deceit. Donald Trump is simply the most corrupt President in American history.”
Mr. Newsom is spot on right there. The most corrupt in history. Sounds about right. Yes, we’ve already started hearing his name floating around for the presidential position. We’ve also already heard rumors about Senator Kelly. That’s after midterms, and those are more important to us right now. At least Mr. Newsom asked California voters about redrawing the map. He gave them different scenarios and let them say yes or no. Plus, it has an expiration date, but by the time it ends, Trump will be gone. Some of us will be old and gray by that point, but Trump will be gone.
Newsom also listed several more cases in which the Trump administration launched various controversial investigations into various people perceived as rivals or figures who wronged him. “His personal attorney [Todd Blanche] now runs the Department of Justice, which has repeatedly gone after his political enemies,” Newsom said. “Ask Jerome Powell. He sent them after James Comey. Tish James. Adam Schiff. He sent them after Tim Walz. And a woman that a jury found Donald Trump had sexually abused.” “One by one, anyone who has challenged Donald Trump has ended up on his hit list,” he added. “And today, I proudly join that list.”
Join that list. Ahahahaha. Indeed, he has. And he can make use of it for his tweets. It would almost be worth going onto Xitter for that. Almost. I know I should be on social media a lot more.
