This is still a developing story, so expect another article, but what’s happening right now is too damn funny to not let y’all in on the secret.
Right now we are on an official DOJ Filing Watch. The traffic court federal district magistrate that Traitor Tot appointed has scheduled a hearing for Thursday as to whether or not to appoint a Special Master to oversee the disposition of the documents seized from Trump’s home by the FBI.
Here’s the basic timeline. The DOJ is due to file their reply to the court today, and the Trump team will have to file their response to the DOJ’s filing tomorrow, ahead of the hearing. But here’s where everything gets all Trumpy again.
Because the district magistrate, who is obviously about as intelligent as The Trumpster Fire didn’t bother to set a deadline for the DOJ filing, say 5:00 PM EDT, the DOJ has up until midnight to file their filing on the public facing court docket. And here it is, 11:10 EDT, and we’re still waiting for the DOJ to post their filing.
This is a master class on how to bone your opponent, as well as the judge sideways. The normal filing for a motion like this is about 20 pages or less. The DOJ requested an extended filing of 40 pages, telling you right off of the bat that they’re preparing to neutron bomb the Trump legal beagles, and it will all be available to the public.
But why give your opponent any extra time to deal with your assertions? And as a result, the DOJ will wait until about 11:45 to file the document, let the Trump ambulance chasers track it down, download it, read it, and have to come up with a coherent response by 11:59 tomorrow night. Considering the fact that this is a group who had to try 3 times to file a motion that has a tutorial on the federal court website, I like Garland’s odds.
This should be embarrassing to any barred lawyer, But for His Lowness, it should be totally humiliating. After all, Trump never thought that Garland had the stones to come and get the documents, and the FBI raided him. Trump gambled that Garland would never unseal the search warrant and inventory list, and Garland spanked him again. And Trump was positive that Garland would never release the affidavit for the search warrant, and Garland buried him with a more front facing redaction than anybody expected.
And now, here we go again. If Garland wants to file a 40 page motion, he’s planning on burying Trump and his lawyers with public facing information. And he’s leaving them with no time to craft a coherent response, if they were even capable of it. Lawrence O’Donnell nailed it, For Donald Trump, every day of the rest of his life only gets worse from here on out.

Stephanie Ruhle just announced that DOJ filed at about 11:30 pm. So they are giving the Drumpf legal team an extra 30 minutes. Apparently DOJ just regurgitated the time line, their process and the fact that the privilege team has already examined the documents. So, now we wait to see if this judge, appointed by the orange one, can properly adjudicate. I’m pretty sure his team’s filing will be comedy gold.
Not just that. It’s an interesting doc. The appendices are stuff from NARA and Bratt, as well as one photo taken by the FBI.
I don’t guess tRump’s side will ever realize they are not dealing with child-brained people. Garland and company are not playing around and definitely not stupid. Now is when tRump’s inability to obtain high quality legal representation becomes very clear.
