“He that troubleth his own house shall inherit the wind.” — Proverbs 11:29 KJV
Maybe the Party of Lincoln should consider the words of Lincoln, “a house divided amongst itself cannot stand.” Lincoln made this speech about slavery and here are a few other things he said that day. “I believe this government cannot endure, permanently half slave and half free. I do not expect the Union to be dissolved – I do not expect the house to fall – but I do expect it will cease to be divided. It will become all one thing, or all the other.”
Until the GOP decides who and what it is, it will remain divided. But not forever. Because as Abraham Lincoln pointed out, a thing divided does finally become all one thing or all the other thing. Will the GOP and its narrowly led House go all MAGA, right-wing extremist, or will that die down and some version of a conservative GOP take its place?
Right now the fight in the House is over the main issue of the day, shutting down the government as a theatrical gesture, knowing full well that that’s all it is, is entertainment for the MAGA base, versus actually doing the job that the representatives were elected to do. Political theater leads the day.
Matt Gaetz says it was “disgraceful” and “misogynist” for Kevin McCarthy to call Victoria Spartz a quitter:
“It showed another reason why he’s not just an ineffective leader, but a morally bankrupt one.” pic.twitter.com/xopau04GdC

The guy who is credibly accused of having sex with underage women is calling somebody else morally bankrupt. Okey doke. NCRW:
House Republicans claim they want to shut down the government to stop what they claim is excessive federal government spending, but as The New York Times reported, shutdowns are expensive and actually cost the American taxpayers even more money.
Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX), has been pushing for a shutdown since last summer – before the House flipped to Republicans, saying as soon as they take control they should shut down the government “on day one” and “actually fight.”
“James Comer is going to waste all of our time on yet another Hunter Biden hearing just 2 days before the government is expected to shut down,” said U.S. Rep. Jared Moskowitz (D-FL) on Tuesday, referring to the Oversight Chairman. “MAGA Republicans are saying very clearly they don’t care if the economy gets wrecked as long as Donald Trump is happy.”
Last week Congressman Gaetz on the House floor threatened to force a vote to remove McCarthy as Speaker, while claiming McCarthy is working with Democratic House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries and President Joe Biden.
And McCarthy says he won’t do a John Boehner and leave. He’s staying, even if removed.
We learned from Nixon that the louder a politician is saying he won't resign, the more likely it is he will.

Now here’s the bottom line: the shitshow in the House is just that. It’s a shitshow, designed to impress MAGA voters, we presume. Because even other Republicans see through the sham.
Rep. Mike Lawler: “This is stupidity. The idea that we’re going to shut the government down when we don’t control the Senate, we don’t control the White House…It’s a clown show…You keep running lunatics. You’re going to be in this position.” pic.twitter.com/5AUEu6GLgv

Here’s my bottom line.
A pro can do a lot with nothing. Not just in politics but in any field. If you never heard this legend before, the world famous Caesar salad was created by a chef who literally had a bare pantry. So he put together a salad, with a wild spin on a vinaigrette dressing (raw egg) and made crotons and it became a classic.
I could go on about people who have wrought wonders with little or nothing and Nancy Pelosi is part of that ilk. She said McCarthy was an “empty suit” and he is.
Remember when John Kelly called FL Representative Frederica Wilson an “empty barrel?” Now, if he were to make the same remarks only directed at Matty Gaetz I could agree with him!
Elect enough clowns and you’ll get a circus.
Here’s proof.
Gaetz using the phrase “morally bankrupt” when talking about someone other them himself is an obscene piece of hypocrisy.
Why does it seem like, “It’s ok if you are a Republican”, is a hard fact for all these do-wrongs in our House/Senate chambers?
And WHAT was worth 2 Billion Dollars to the Saudi’s to send it home with Jarod?
Did Father-in-law sell some secrets to the Saudi’s? Son-in-law would make a perfect currier, anyone truly qualified to handle classified documents would NEVER deliver ANYTHING like that … Daughter and Son-in-law were NOT able to fill out the forms so Daddy gave them clearance, (see how bird-brains work?) …
I’d be much more impressed with Rep Lawler’s comments if he–and enough other “outraged” GOPers–would take a stand against the “lunatics,” even if it meant working *with* the Democrats to shut down the “lunatics.” But, for some reason, I’ve got a feeling he’s just grandstanding for the cameras and, when he’s on the House floor, he votes lock-step with the very “lunatics” he criticizes.
Joe Biden needs to tell Matt Getsum to shut the fck up and go fck himself. Then he needs to start doing his job and then tell them to stick their impeachment up their asses. That’s what he should do. It’s what the country needs. Someone needs to show some backbone and tell these maga clowns to hit the road and don’t let the door hit you where the good Lord split you. Same thing with Tommy Tubeville. Schumer ran three around the moron because the main general was going to hit his mandate retirement at the end of the month. And as far as tubville is concerned. You are supposed to live in the state you represent. If he wants to live in Florida, run for office in Florida. Loser.
