Even though I wasn’t in the courtroom, I can’t get the vision out of my head, the same vision I saw -personally as the foreman of a jury when the court clerk reads the verdict.

Donald Trump, in his power suit with his Bolshevik colored tie, standing next to his next sacrificial lamb, Todd Blanche, while he listent to the word GUILTY ring out into the courtroom 34 times. And even then it wasn’t over, because he had to stand there and listen to the judge poll each juror separately, having them confirm with an oral YES that the verdicts accurately portrayed their votes. Then he had to sit there while the judge thanked the jury for their service. Then, once the judge left his bench, Traitor Tot ckilk off to plot his next Trumper tantrum.

For His Lowness, everything just changed in the last 30 minutes. Trump is no longer presumed innocent, he is now as guilty as original sin. He is no longer defendant Trump he is now criminal Trump. And while the trial may finally be over, his life is by no means his own again.

What next? Well, the first thing the judge would have ordered convicted felon Trump to do, and under a tight time limit, is to show up at his local New York parole office for an interview. Because a part of Trump’s sentencing with the judge is a sentencing recommendation from the prosecution and defense lawyers, as well as a sentencing recommendation from the New York state Parole board. And if he treats his parole officer the way he treats everybody else, the parole board will be recommending that the state of New York reinstitute the death penalty.

I can’t stop giggling. I know it’s shallow of me, but I can be as shallow as a puddle when the moment calls for it, and never has there been a shallow moment like this. I’m especially glad that I took the chance and called my shot in my 2nd article last night, describing why the body language of the jury led me to believe that they were moving faster than they wre getting credit for, and just wanted to cot the i’s and cross the t’s.

What a total debacle. I think that Todd Blanche might want to take a few days off to reconsider maybe transitioning into either personal injury or real estate law. The rapidity of this verdict proves that Blanche burned his first bridge with the jury in his opening statement, and his last bridge in closing arguments. Abd for all of the sniveling Trump Mini-Me’s that showed up like clones to scowl at the jury, they just told you to get that lame shit outta here!

In his post verdict pissing contest, Trump was his usual whiny little beyotch self. This verdict is a disgrace. The judge rigged the whole trial. This isn’t over by a long shot! The jury was rigged, and the entire process is a disgrace! Yada, yada, yada.

Judge Merchan has set sentencing for July 11th, and that is going to be Must-See. It’s also going to be fascinating. Trump could be sentenced to anything ranging from parole and public service, to home confinement, to actual incarceration. If New York is like Illinois, both sides as well as the Parole Board must have their written sentencing arguments on Judge Merchan’s desk at least 7 days prior to sentencing.

Here’s why this fascinates me. Trump has already been found liable for 10 counts of direct contempt of court and fined $1000 a pop. But Judge Merchan also warned Trump that continued abuse could lead to incarceration. Merchan doesn’t need Bragg to file a formal motion in order to find Trump in direct contempt of court, that’s his privilege. As such, I can see the judge sentencing Trump to probation and a fine, and then saying something like, And now, let’s talk about your contemptuous treatment of this court. You were warned that continued violations would lead to consequences. I am finding you guilty of 14 counts of direct contempt of court, and sentencing you to 10 days in lockup for each occurrence. bailiff, remove the convict from the courtroom for processing. It would be wise to split the sentence like that, since it is my understanding that rulings of contempt of court are not qualified for appeal. If I’m right, Trump would have to serve his 140 days.

I’ll close with this. It took about 14 months from indictment to conviction, about average. And obviously there was intense public interest in seeing justice done. This should be a warning shot across the bow for both the Supreme Court as well as Kindergarten Judge Cannon not to s*ck around anymore. And it should embolden Judge Chutkan to move forward full-speed-ahead once the SCOTUS shoots Trump down. We all have her back.

I thank you for the privilege of your time.

  1. Don Don’s reptilian responses are about to get more unguarded and reactionary to the legal stimulus that provokes them. It’s a no win for such reactions simply because he’s an individual who, because of his reptilian ‘deep as a birdbath’ psychological and intellectual shortcomings, can’t communicate or think straight, perhaps. He subsequently sees everything is an instrument for an argument. He lacks also lacks well documented accountability – as a natural person and as a corporate person – and so, his reptilian response is also that he thinks everything is an attack. He’s game play sadly is to play the victim, and he’s very poor at doing that also. In sum, Don Don is a looser that projects his demons, strategies and eventual demise. Keep it up Don Don you are doing an excellent job at securing your demise, of your own doing. Then, when this finally happens, his enablers, backers, adorers and sect will be deprived of the toxic oxygen variant they so desperately seek – they will implode and compost, in due course. Yes, I fully appreciate you you are giggling, Joseph.

    • Like with tRumpy, for Joe McCarthy in the 50s, it took too long for him to fall but when he did, it was hard and fast.

  2. I wonder if the republication nomination will become chaotic food fight in July or just a zombie march. I can’t decide if I will go to the convention and stand outside with a sign. What should it say? Go ahead and pick the rapist felon and lose again. I need something shorter.

It certainly SHOULD be, but will it? My major concern right now is how SCOTUS will handle the Trump immunity case. Denying him blanket immunity for anything he did in office won’t technically affect his New York conviction, but that decision might serve to take some of the heat off the Court for the recent scandal over Alito’s flags. On the other hand, Alito and Thomas may be so convinced of their invulnerability that they just can’t wait to show how much they hate the rule of law. We shall see….

I think the law prohibits any new law (even if it reinstates a previous law) from being used retroactively. A bill would, of course, have to be introduced into and passed by the state’s legislature, then be signed by the Governor (alternatively, the whole thing could be presented as an amendment, requiring a vote by the people–not sure about how the amendment process works in New York but such an amendment might not be able to be on any of this year’s election ballots, but I digress . . .). But, the law wouldn’t allow for Trump to face the death penalty since it wasn’t a possible outcome of this trial; even IF the death penalty had been a possible result of the charges, Trump was found guilty–and will face sentencing–before a measure to reinstate the death penalty could go into effect.

  5. After consideration, I’m beginning to think that a short stretch in a jail cell would only make him appear to be a ‘martyr’ (well he’d miss his diet coke and hamberders as well as his ioncessant rambling tweets)

Instead – what about a couple of hundred hours of community service. I’m sure the NY tourist trade would reap dividends from people wanting to see him wearing a DoC vest and going round Central Park with a pooper scooper. What that would do is the one thing that would really get under his orange skin – it would HUMILIATE him
