Trump was so colossally off the walls in Iowa Tuesday, that even Fox Business had to do damage control with a fast cut away before Trump made an even bigger a$$ of himself. He started out doubling down on his insistence he knows more about tariffs than everybody else, then he incredibly claimed that California agreed with him that wildfires were not caused by climate change, but by not raking the forests. He said, “All of a sudden, about four weeks after [he made the comment] they learned I was right and now they’re managing the forest.” BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

That was beyond idiotic, but the piece de resistance was when he began babbling about how the real issue Iowa farmers face is not being able to hook their tractors up to the internet. I was laughing so hard that I had to compose a few lyrics of a parody song. Sing it with me now, to the tune of “If I Had A Hammer.”

“If I had a tractor, I’d hook it up to wi-fi,

I’d hook it up to broadband, that Trump gave the Midwest,

I don’t wanna sell soybeans, don’t wanna make money,

Just wanna play online now, forget about tornados

with Trump’s gift of the interrrrrnet.” Twang.

Well, I guess they were plowing the fields with a dial up modem, before Donald Trump saved them, yesiree Bob. They’re in good shape now though, no worries.

While Trump was raving in the western part of the Hawkeye state, Joe Biden was in the eastern portion, and he gave a preview of what might be his campaign slogan. Wall Street Journal:

At a campaign stop in Mount Pleasant in eastern Iowa, the former vice president made a passing reference to Mr. Trump’s 2016 campaign slogan, saying: “You talk about the fact that let’s ‘Make America Great Again.’ I’d settle for just let America be America again.”

[…]

Mr. Trump said if Mr. Biden was elected, “we would never be treated with respect because people don’t respect him.” He added that Mr. Biden “reminds me of crooked Hillary,” in a reference to his 2016 Democratic opponent Hillary Clinton.

Yeah and the world respects you so much. That’s why we’re it’s laughing stock. And the farmers are hurting a’plenty from Trump’s idiotic tariffs, not from lack of internet. RawStory:

“I can stand a little bit of short-term pain to get a better market for the future,” said Dave Walton, an Iowa farmer and Trump voter. “But we’re at the point now that the pain has turned to bleeding.”

The trade war in combination with a series of natural disasters is putting farmers between a rock and a hard place. Recent promises from Trump to bail out farmers if China won’t buy their crop is certainly a help for the bottom line, but if that crop then gets destroyed in the torrential rains that have plagued Texas, Oklahoma and Kansas, farmers are left unsure of what to do.

They don’t need to be unsure. We can tell them what to do. Just watch Trump do nothing, watch everything get destroyed, and then tell them that it’s not climate change, it’s the fact that they don’t rake the fields. And then he’ll get up a few months later and lie that Iowans came to agree with him about it. What Iowa farmers and all Iowans need to do, if they want relief from this, is vote Trump’s a$$ out of office.

And that might just happen. Trump’s polling at 42% in Iowa, and don’t forget, Obama took the state in 2012. Iowa is by no means locked up in the Trump column.

    • This was unbelievable. Especially when he said that California “learned” that he “was right.” Oh, yeah, I remember the revelation, straight from Sacramento, Donald Trump is right. I wonder if any of his supporters here think that happened. I would be interested to know that. Not that I need verification of how lost they are. But they do provide entertainment value.

  1. Tr*mp has never been in a tractor in his life. Heck, he hasn’t driven anything bigger than a golf cart in years – I don’t think he’d fit behind a steering wheel now.
Tractors have had A/C since the 80s, and CD players for 20 or so – before that, cassettes. If you’re going to be out in a field for three or four hours, or more, you need *something* to listen to. (Also: mobile phones were adopted by farms early. And computers. Farmers aren’t as backwards as that real-estate salesman from Queens.)

    • I guess Trump figures they need to play video games when they’re out there as well. And maybe they do. And it’s fine with me if that’s the case. My point is that tariffs and climate change are the issues and how he got off on tractors and internet, is a mental connection I can’t make. I guess you have to be Trump.

        • It’s for damn sure I can’t follow his, “thinking” you should excuse the expression. It was funny though. That and California seeing the light and realizing that Trump knew more than all of the best scientific minds and legislators on this topic. I was howling.

      • No, the newest tractors and combines do report their activity on the net. How many seeds at what exact spacing, very high tech and probably not worth the cost to know, especially if said seeds get drowned

  2. It’s astonishing to me how much of the mainstream media listens to this and just seems to go “Yup — that’s normal.”

    • I think that even the MSM is going to conclude that today’s performance was a bit more bizarre than usual. He started out with a White House presser praising Kim Jong Un and then he did this a few hours later in Iowa. He’s getting further out there, IMO. I watch him closely, needless to say, and he seems to be becoming more unraveled. I think he’s losing it mentally, especially since he’s saying that about Joe Biden, and you know how he projects. Crooked Donald called Hillary crooked, and mentally gone Donald is calling Biden mentally weak.

        • The media is not equipped to deal with Trump. It never has been. They first put him on an equal plane with Hillary, because that’s how it’s always been with two candidates, and that was the first mistake. Normalizing him and going for ratings led to this tragedy. The reason Trump hates CNN, for example, is because they stopped doing that and are telling the truth about him. Same with NBC.

          • So true. Part of they normalizing him though was to create a horse race. If they had been honest about both candidates from the beginning and covered their record, their qualifications and their policies, it would have looked like the blowout they didn’t want.

      • Whatever or whomever is pushing him to become unravel, should double down the effort. Maybe slip a beny or two in his water and push him unto the stage and watch the “greatest infomercial ever conceived”.
And Democrats should start compiling clips of the state network (Fox) disagreeing with the tRump in chief.

        • That has to have been done. That’s an obvious choice. The ads during this election will be incredible. If you thought the anti-Hillary ad with all the immigrants having all over box cars to enter the country was off the walls, just wait. I predict Election 2020 will make 2016 look tame by comparison.

    • Trump believes he can con people forever. There’s no way he’s going to con people on these tariffs. He said, “We’re getting billions of dollars from China.” No.We.Are.Not. I can’t wait until the election when our nominee points that out to the world.

It’s going to be the ugliest election in history, much worse than 2016, is my prediction. I’m not happy to make the prediction, but it’s obvious to me that that’s the case.

  3. What’s next? Trump wondering aloud at a rally why Ted Stevens hasn’t proposed a bill to provide special hookups to the series of tubes that make up the internet? The scary thing is that Trump might well have asked Yertle about it & ole Mitch looked at the grift he & his wife have been getting away with and decided to cover up just how crazy Trump has gotten.

It does happen to be true that there have been long standing efforts to expand broadband access to rural areas. Of course, conservatives have fought tooth & nail to slow down such efforts as they figure out how to ensure providers (big campaign contributors btw) are able to squeeze every last penny out of farmers & others in those rural areas for reliable broadband access. The orange turd maggot has probably heard bits and pieces about lack of broadband/internet access in those areas but since he won’t read up on things and won’t talk to, much less listen to actual experts who know shit about this or any other topic he winds up again publicly making a fool out of himself.

    • That’s pretty much the size of it. Trump cobbles together bits and pieces of what he hears (and he hears it all, he never reads and is incapable of analysis) and then he just spews out some gibberish on a topic of which he knows nothing. Seriously, the humblest blogger on the internet does more research and fact checking then the sitting *resident. Horrifying, bur true.

      • I’m beginning to think DJT’s actions are so bizarre and off the proverbial wall, that there is no longer a reference scale that places Trump in a specific slot in reference to acceptable performance of a “sitting president” … he sits a lot of the time, in golf carts, on board AF-1, at the table of a rancid swamp, arms crossed in a very personal hug of pretend ultimate knowledge … fear of having to talk truth to the team …

He sits on his hands when it comes time to, “Do the right thing”, like give the PR people the promised help as people there were dying so long ago, DACA was a good plan, screw that idea, deport anyone possible, no attention to little ones that might die, just throw them all into dog cages, slop them like hogs or cattle …, if they don’t praise him for being himself, they don’t count for any support OR care, that’s him in that nutshell, he just does not care, and, now, showing definite signs of mental instability, he needs to be stopped from doing all the damage he is …

With the newer shot at reality from FOX, the shitgibbon will have to be told some lie about how his rant was interrupted in their video capture in Iowa … he may need to be told the truth, (by someone on a billboard or highway sign) [Fox News cuts DJT short for mindless rant in Iowa]

Enough of that may keep him unstable enough, because, well FOX IS going to be the new USA super news unit, how dare they cut me off!?!

        • I don’t think Fox Business will ever tell him the truth about the cutaway. Fox is going to keep taking Trump to the bank, and when that’s no longer possible, they’ll find some other clown to make into a counter-culture folk hero. It’s funny, when I was young, I was in the counter-culture, which at that time was peace and love, flower power, women’s rights, all that. Now, the counter-culture is kill the gays, ruin as many womens’ lives as possible by withholding safe and sane abortion, and let the kids get shot in schools. What a difference a half century makes.
