The Morning Consult Poll conducted yesterday shows no gain for former Resident Trump following the shooting on Saturday, despite much wishful thinking and hoopla across social media platforms predicting that a wave of sympathy after the attack would lift his numbers and propel him back into the Oval Office. Instead it appears that voter’s impressions of the felonious one are already baked, and while the race remains close, neither side should be celebrating just yet…

Raw Story

“Following the failed assassination attempt on Saturday, former President Donald Trump did not see a polling boost, in the first presidential survey taken since the event.

In the national Morning Consult poll of 2,045 registered voters, taken Monday, Trump leads President Joe Biden 46 percent to 45 percent. The poll has a margin of error of two percentage points.

The poll, conducted by Morning Consult of 2,045 registered voters on Monday, reveals that Trump is leading Joe Biden by just one percentage point on 46 percent, compared to the president’s 45 percent. The poll has a margin of error of +/- two percentage points.

In fact, Trump’s lead has narrowed slightly since an earlier poll taken July 12-14, where Trump was leading 44 to 42 percent. However, the change is within the poll’s margin of error.“

Of course, this poll showing a deadlocked contest is hardly good news for we good guys, as in any sane nation a leader with Joe Biden’s record of accomplishments would be leading the miscreant by double digits.

The last para in this cited article might provide some insight as to why the polls are so close:

“Polling reliability faced harsh scrutiny after the 2016 and 2020 elections when some state polls significantly missed the final results. Pollsters have adjusted methodologies, but skepticism persists about turnout modeling and the challenges of accurately capturing the views of key voter blocs like Latino and Black voters. Ultimately, quality polling will be vital to tracking this fluid and polarized 2024 campaign as both sides jockey for an edge.”

The facts is that while no one wishes to see the man shot, a majority of the folks in this country could care less if the ground just swallowed him up and they didn’t have to see or hear from him anymore.

And that is not goin to change…

  1. So true, his own rhetoric has brought this on. 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️ What’s a person to do when it comes and bites you in the ass. Thoughts and prayers (from a non believer), GET OVER IT YOU SNOWFLAKE!

  2. My thinking is- if you keep asking for something, sooner or later you are going to get it. It seems to be a law or rule in this world we live in. Immediately afterward, he had the nerve to say “fight! fight!”. He seems to be inciting or asking for more violence. I guess he hasn’t heard of boomerangs or what goes around comes around.

  3. You know, the first thought I had about the shooting, other than I was sorry he was shot, is that Trump’s reaction, if it were someone else who had been shot like that, would have been that they are a loser. Just like he said about John McCaine. So he must be a loser to have been shot. He shouldn’t have been out politicking. That’s sad, but it’s karma.

  4. Many people believe his little act last weekend was just that, a staged act, and NOT an assassination attempt: I did not think I would hear that where I work but I have yet to hear anyone say it was an actual assassination attempt. That whole fiasco did not pass the smell test and the more we find out about it, the more it looks like something planned by a group of idiots that ended up with people losing their health/lives so that Von Shitzinpants might look like a man instead of what he actually is-a sniveling coward.

  5. Reports may be inaccurate, but according to media:
    1. It’s still unclear if Trump was grazed by a bullet, or by shards of glass from the teleprompter. The networks appear to believe the former narrative is better for ratings.
    2. Trump was able to play golf on Sunday, but had not reached out to the family of the deceased victim until Tuesday.
    3. President Biden DID call the man’s widow. “Helen Comperatore said Biden called her. She did not want to speak to him but had no ill will toward him.” (Classy, huh?)
    4. O/T (I did hear this on air) CNN’s Jim Acosta opined that after Biden’s debate performance, he expected Trump to be ahead in the polls by 10 or 12 points. Acosta now fancies himself as a polling expert, apparently. No more “straight news” reporting for Jim!
I’m not too concerned about polls. The FascistPalooza going on in Milwaukee will show that the GOP has nothing to offer to Americans.

  6. Playing golf the next day likely didn’t help, dept when he failed to call the family of the dead supporter or visit/call the other two.victims.

    • Ahhhh, yes, the dead man’s widow had spoken out about Trump not calling her. While expressing dismay over that, she related to reporters that she refused to take the call made by President Biden, saying she “didn’t want to to Biden. Biden.

The negative publicity probably got through to the MAGA team, as reports published today indicate that Trump finally made that call.
