It has never been anything but delay with these people. But when in doubt, lie, and the Ninjas are claiming that they’re just now receiving ballot envelope images which they’ve had for months.
This is analogous to the final flopping of a fish upon the beach. They blew the Friday deadline and today’s and they just won’t give up. They are running out of gas, though. This is from the Maricopa County Recorder’s weekly newsletter.
- After stating that they would deliver a report to the Senate on Friday, the Ninjas now say they’ll deliver a draft report by Monday, August 23.
- It was the week of prebuttals!
- Maricopa County sent the Senate a notice of claim that it will seek $2.8 million from the Senate to replace the tabulators (link)
- AZ Court of Appeals ruled the Cyber Ninjas’ docs are subject to public records request (opinion, link, link). Will Senate appeal? Probably.

I suspect they thought it would be an easy job, but didn’t reckon with reality.
Remember a while back when there was a rash of Putin’s civilian hacker corps hitting municipalities with ransomware attacks? Wouldn’t it be interesting if Cyber Ninjas and some of the AZ GOP Senators got hit? All at once? I for one wouldn’t be the least bit surprised if somehow this happened – because those assholes out in AZ paid them already to do it!
As we know, it’s a bedrock of conservative principles (yes, I know that’s a contradiction in terms but you know what I mean) to “negotiate with terrorists.” They can waste the FBI’s time by having them trace the hack back to somewhere over there that they can’t do anything about, and out in AZ the GOP will hope this all dies down in a couple of months.
Crazier stuff has happened, and I really do think some of them are desperate for a way out of the pile of shit they’ve made and jumped in to.
So after months of diligently counting and recounting ballots and realizing no matter how they count it, that even with all the smoke and mirrors the results still remain the same……Joe Biden won Maricopa County.
