Sometimes things are tied together by coincidence. And sometimes things are deliberately tied together and it appears to be a coincidence. California is experiencing catastrophic wildfires. Yet all but one member of the California GOP chose to abandon their state and join President-elect DonOld at Mar-A-Lago. Incidentally, that one person was not invited because he had voted for impeaching the Cheesy Poof Traitor Tot.
People are now wondering if these members are even going to think about the ones whom they represent instead of themselves. Is political maneuvering going to be more important than constituents? I can see a lot of people getting voted out next go-round. Abandoning their state and people does not look well on them. As a side note, maybe someone will come up with a name like Cancun Cruz. It’s a very similar thing, after all – abandoning your people.
But here’s the best part. House GOP members are looking to tie fire relief to raising the debt ceiling. LOL wut? Fire is blazing through people’s homes leaving them with nothing, and they want to tie raising the debt ceiling to relief? What the holy hell, people! What are you THINKING??!! The debt ceiling has NOTHING to do with the state needing help and needing it NOW. Instead, the political maneuvering goes on and on and they’re at Mar-A-Slobo. Leadership? What’s that?
This whole thing with tRump and his Cabinet picks (nasty) is just getting out of control. Priorities are different and mostly only to themselves instead of the people, the constituents who put them there. And it isn’t even just California. Other states are getting involved with these conversations – like NY and NJ. Now those two have had wildfire issues too, but why are they involved in meetings with California? That’s yet another aspect of tying relief to the debt ceiling increase that makes less than no sense.
I’m stunned to read about this. I’m stunned that it would be done in the first place when California is on fire (and spreading). I’m stunned that they are discussing tying two completely unrelated things together, and it’s really beyond callous. Is this what our country is in for in the next 4 years? I’m going to wake up with dread wondering what ridiculously nasty thing is going to happen today. And I wish I could capture the image of what the Mango Mandarin posted over the weekend. Against a burning hill, with letters that look like the ones in the Hollywood sign, it says TRUMP WAS RIGHT. Whaaaaat?
