It was simply impossible last night to use any portion of the net, or at least any of the social media platforms, and get away from the rumors that Elon Musk was demonstrating classic ketamine intoxication at his appearance with CPAC. It is not a crazy accusation given that Musk has admitted to taking ketamine, albeit legally (He says) as prescribed for depression. It should be noted that Ketamine has been hailed as a near miracle cure for depression. But it is critical to note, it’s not a medicine that works by taking it daily. No, for whatever reason, it works after someone is given massive I.V. doses in a supervised medical facility, and allowed to “fly” (Patients often say they feel like they’re flying) for an hour or two. Again, no one is sure exactly why, but the experience and hallucinations burn new pathways in the brain, perhaps going around some of the old ones that run right through the depression circuit – put in non-scientific terms. So to the extent that Musk was on Ketamine last night, it was not a clinical attempt to ward off depression. No, if he was on it – and very few doubt that he was, it was for fun, pure and simple. It just came off as terrible, “strange beyond description,” as something that really could “cost” the richest guy on earth things he cannot buy – legitimacy, seriousness, trust.

Wow did he ever take it on the chin. Urs wrote up the actual event for us, this piece covers the ensuing fallout. It is ironic because some of that coverage comes from Grok – the new Musk developed AI platform that is quickly becoming my new Google, easier to use than ChatGPT, I also like its quirky humor. Regardless, every morning before I write I ask Grok what happened last night. This morning, it had Dad Musk in its sites, letting me know how bad it was. Given this is an AI discussion and I’m not “quoting” another author, I will not use the quote box format, just italics. Grok sums up the coverage:

Journalist Aaron Rupar, known for his political commentary, remarked on X that “Elon can barely form a sentence right now,” sharing a clip of Musk’s Newsmax interview from CPAC and later noting his difficulty speaking coherently as he waved a chainsaw while exiting the stage.

Legal analyst Jennifer Taub quipped on X, calling him a “kleptocratic ketamine addict,” directly tying his behavior to the drug.

Melanie D’Arrigo, a health campaign director from New York, also commented on X, expressing alarm at Musk’s actions, stating, “The same guy running around the stage with a chainsaw and unable to complete a sentence wants to put his microchips in people’s brains.”

tinyurl.com/3azx6ackMiVote founder Adam A. Jacob: "Elon Musk is the Nick Nolte of Joseph Goebbels.""The same guy running around the stage with a chainsaw & unable 2 complete a sentence wants 2 put his microchips in people’s brains" -Melanie D'Arrigo, New York Health Campaign director🤣

Additionally, Kylie Cheung, a staff writer for Jezebel, posted a critical take, suggesting Musk’s erratic demeanor made his influence a broader societal problem, though not explicitly confirming ketamine use.

That last take is worth strong consideration. Consider how the Right views Musk as able to do no wrong. He is the richest guy on earth, one could consider that success no matter how he’s gotten there. Additionally, he has advocated Ketamine use before (And rightly so, as a last resort treatment for depression it has been a wonder drug… As a LAST RESORT when all else has failed), and some will believe that Ketamine must either be very helpful at best or completely neutral at worst – not debilitating. And yet damn is it ever a dangerous drug to the heart and head if used to intoxication without any supervision.

With respect to how Musk was acting, Grok describes Ketamine intoxication, see if this reminds you of anyone:

Physically, they might appear uncoordinated or immobile. At lower doses, you could see someone swaying, stumbling, or dragging their feet as if their motor skills are off—like they’re moving through molasses. Their eyes might give them away: dilated pupils are common, and you might notice rapid, involuntary eye movements (nystagmus), where their gaze jerks side to side or up and down. They could be sweating more than usual, and their breathing might seem labored or uneven…

Behaviorally, they’re often disoriented or confused, acting like they’re not fully in the room. Speech can get slurred or choppy, with gaps as they struggle to string words together—sometimes it’s just nonsense, like a word salad…

All I know is that I’ve never seen Musk wearing sunglasses before – ever, not outside, not during the day, never – and yet he shows up last night at CPAC, inside, wearing shades, waving a chainsaw around, very very very suspicious.

We know that Grok has its suspicions. At least, it knows what people are saying about big daddy. The cool thing about Grok is that not only will it give you cited answers to anything in 1.6 seconds (So much easier to use than Google), it is absolutely unafraid to knock its masters down a few notches, both Musk and the engineers at X. Hopefully Musk pulls out of this spiral. No one wants to see it, not even Grok.

Friends, donations have dried up this week and we haven’t gotten any new subscribers. If you’ve already helped, thank you so very much. If you can help a bit, it would be appreciated. We are in a slough of despair with the generalized Democratic depression on top of Q1 revenue rates being the lowest of all year. Thank you. Ursula

  1. Interesting that RFreakingK Jr. wants to do away with anti-depressants and here’s the acting Pres loaded to the gills and a big advocate of ketamine.

  2. I wonder if someone had the good sense to disable the chainsaw. Had Musk powered it up in that condition he might have done serious damage to if not killed someone else or even himself. Experienced lumberjacks have been known to get careless for a few seconds at just the wrong time and a “kickback” throws the thing back into their neck or shoulder and they quickly bleed out. And Ketamine abuse? Makes me think of actor Matthew Perry who decided HE knew better than experts on use of it to manage his own issues. And died. I for one wouldn’t lost a moment’s sleep if Musk went the same deadly route to the same end.

Don’t you think he had a problem with “legitimacy, seriousness and trust” before he pulled the chainsaw stunt???? I’m stating the obvious, I realize! But maybe Elon could throw a ketamine bash and get all the MAGAs high on it (including his “boss”). Wouldn’t that be special? Sort of a Jim Jones episode buy with ketamine instead of Kool Aid.

  3. Not exactly sure about Mustrat and ketamine since i’ve not tried it yet. However, I did use quite a bit of prescribed MDMA in my younger days. Seems like ketamine may raise your ego and make you think you are always right and king of the Universe. MDMA lowers your ego and makes you love everything around you and become a part of Universal self. I think I’ll vote for MDMA every time…
