An attorney for Eric and Donald Trump Jr. is all out of sorts because the two brothers were compared to financial criminal Martin Shkreli. Who, as you may remember, jacked up the price of a life-saving drug by more than 4,000 percent. Shkreli gained notoriety and earned the sobriquet “pharma bro,” during his time as chief executive of Turing Pharmaceuticals when he hiked the price of the antiparasitic drug Daraprim from $17.50 to $750 per tablet, The Guardian notes.

Mind you, he served more than four years in prison—but not because of his obvious greed in hiking the price of this drug—something that to me, is criminal. No instead he did time after being convicted in 2017 for defrauding investors in a pair of hedge funds and plotting to defraud investors in another pharmaceutical company.

Then there’s former president Donald Trump’s two eldest sons — Don Jr. and Eric Trump, who helped their father shovel millions of dollars from a cancer charity — The Eric Trump Foundation, all the while convincing donors that the money was being used to help sick kids when in reality, much of it was making its way back to the Trump Organization, Forbes reports.

So it’s easy to see why there would be comparisons of Don Jr., and Eric Trump to Shkreli, but Clifford Robert, an attorney for the pair apparently doesn’t feel that way. His umbrage is directed at New York Attorney General Letitia James, who in a letter to New York Supreme Court Justice Arthur Engoron, made note of an appeals court decision to uphold Shkreli’s lifetime ban on doing business in the pharmaceutical industry, according to Raw Story.

James has requested that the court ban the Trump sons from conducting real estate business for five years.

Court reporter Erik Uebelacker posted Robert’s fiery retort on behalf of the pair on X. This dude was definitely in a mood.

“The attorney general’s brazen attempt to compare this case to that of martin shkreli fully demonstrates her willingness to wield the power of her office recklessly in her crusade to destroy the front-running candidate for president of the united states,” robert wrote.

“Such shocking and tyrannical interference in the free markets for political gain places every new york business transaction at risk,” Robert fumed.

Well hey, if James is trying to destroy Donald Trump’s presidential campaign, I say more power to her. But of course, the attorney’s claims are preposterous. If businesses in New York are acting ethically, no one has anything to worry about. If they aren’t oh well.

“Pharma bro” Martin Shkreli is a terrible human being and he let his greed rule his actions. Trump and his two older sons are doing just the same. They are no better than Shkreli and Letitia James is catching up to them.

More power to her. She’s a hero in my mind. If she somehow manages to derail Trump’s campaign, that would be the icing on the cake.

  1. So this is the Trump family getting into an argument over ETHICS?

No wonder ‘Mad Magazine’ went bust, when this is our reality.

    • Exactly. And I think the comparison to Shkreli fits. All 3 Trumps are greedy as h@ll as was Shkreli. The real crime is that Shkreli wasn’t convicted for jacking up the price for a life-saving drug.
