So later we’re going to have a press conference. President Biden has had events during this week’s NATO Summit that were covered by the media. (Not to mention a drop in at the AFL-CIO who has also been in DC – he was awesome in the unscripted event and his remarks) As I keep saying he’s going about doing his job and doing it well. However, the leaders of NATO have had a ringside seat to the ‘OMFG Biden is a doddering old man that needs to step aside’ circus and seem to have another case of ‘WTF is wrong with you people?’ They don’t want to see a a clueless idiot like Trump back in the WH any more than almost everyone reading this does.
Let me remind everyone what the world’s leaders thought of Donald J. Trump YEARS ago, back when he was President:
He tried his campaign rally shtick and the world literally laughed in his face! I’m surprised he handled it ok and didn’t stomp off in anger. The point is that the room laughed at him for spouting what he and they knew was complete and total bullshit. I can assure you the world’s, at least the free world’s opinion of him has only gotten worse. That’s bad of course but they also wonder what the hell has gone wrong with the U.S. that Trump is still involved in politics and will be the GOP nominee for President again.
As this article from Alernet indicates NATO leaders are behind the scenes pointedly asking what’s wrong with our media? As in why Trump’s regular and so often non-sensical ramblings don’t get blown up in the news in the U.S.? The article notes that in an interview with CNN’s Kaitlan Collins Senator Chris Coons spoke of Europe questioning the double standard news outlets have applied to President Biden and Trump, in particular ignoring the increasingly unhinged comments/tone coming from Trump:
“In a lot of those press conferences, and in a lot of his campaign rallies now, [Trump] is saying bizarre and incoherent things,” Coons said. “I talked to a head of state from a European country last night who said, ‘how is it possible that former President Trump is rambling on about electrocution by sharks and exploding pine trees… and no one is asking about it, and people seem only concerned about the current president.’ We’ve got two candidates.”
Again let me remind you the leaders of NATO and other allies (Pacific Rim partners who see NATO and U.S. strength as a buffer against China) have been seeing the Democratic panic and the media double standard I’ve mentioned first hand. In real time. And wonder WTF? I’m guessing from their perspective this is Bush 43 and the “How can American voters be so stupid” all over again only far, far worse.
These are leaders who have dealt with Biden for years, decades in some cases. This week they don’t seem to think he’s anything but still quite capable of leading the alliance. It’s a simple truth that journalists, pundits and a growing chorus of panicky Democrats can’t seem to grasp. That’s why I suggest before shooting off their stupid mouths elected Democrats and others reach out to NATO leaders like Senator Coons did. It can be off the record but a simple call should tell them all they need to know. Our President knows his stuff and can sit in meetings dealing with complex matters and LEAD. Just as importantly he has great judgement in picking people capable of helping him, unlike the idiots Trump posted (and would again) to NATO and European Capitols.
I grow more furious by the day. Even by the hour at times. Irony was long ago beaten to death but it looks like Democrats are by god determined to do the same to common sense.
I could go on and on but I’ll take my own advice and shut up for now. Except to say Democrats who don’t believe the President and his advisors, and those who deal with him if not every day then on an ongoing basis then pick up the goddamn phone and arrange an off the record call with NATO leaders. Then apologize for shooting off their fat mouths and get to work getting President Biden re-elected.

They run countries and make their decisions on facts, not innuendo.
