Don’t Mess Around With Jen

Jen Psaki 1

Jen Psaki is quite possibly the best Press Secretary the White House has ever seen. And it isn’t just in comparison with the vacuous liars of the last four years – they made every Press Secretary of the past look damn good. Jen Psaki is a whole dimension better again.  Every appearance is a stellar performance.

She is a warrior, wielding the twin blades of accuracy and truth. No challenge goes unanswered and her deadliest riposte is always against bad-faith actors and falsehoods. That’s why you don’t mess around with Jen.

If only the Fox tattlers understood this, they could save themselves a great deal of national embarrassment. Hill Reporter.com journalist Brandon Gage accurately headlined his report: “Fox News Tried Messing With Jen Psaki Again. It Went Badly for Them.” It certainly did.

PoliticusUSA recorded it for posterity.

TRANSCRIPT:

Fox underachiever Peter Doocy asked, “Is the White House concerned that Major League Baseball is moving the All-Star Game to Colorado where voting regulations are very similar to Georgia?”

Warrior Jen promptly cut him down to size.

Well, let me just refute the first point you made. First, let me say, um, on Colorado: Colorado allows you to register on Election Day. Colorado has voting by mail where they send to 100 percent of people in the state who are eligible applications to vote by mail – 94 percent of people in Colorado voted by mail in the 2020 election. And they also allow for a range of materials to provide even if they vote on Election Day with a limited number of people to vote on Election Day.

I think it is important to remember the context here. The Georgia legislation is built on a lie. There was no widespread fraud in the 2020 election. Georgia’s top Republican election officials have acknowledged that repeatedly in interviews. And what there was, however, was record-setting turn out especially by voters of color. So, instead, what we are seeing here is that politicians who didn’t like the outcome here. They are not changing their policies to win more votes. They are changing the rules to exclude more voters, and we certainly see the circumstances are different. But ultimately, let me add one more thing. It is up to Major League Baseball to determine where they are holding their All-Star Game.

As the song says:

You don’t tug on superman’s cape
You don’t spit into the wind
You don’t pull the mask off that old lone ranger
And you don’t mess around with Jen

  1. She is truly amazing and I don’t like to use overused buzz words, but she is this. She has all the fact and figures on the tip of her tongue, when she doesn’t know the questions they will ask. She is absolutely the best thing to come along in regards to official white house press breifings.

  2. This lady is a walking compendium of information. She’s got all the facts and figures and she has figured out all the angles way ahead of time. She reminds me of Ruth Bader Ginsburg, to be honest. That may seem like a strange comparison, but both women have the same capacious grasp of the subject matter that they’re discussing. I really like this woman. She’s perfect for this job and this job is a key position in this administration, as you can see from the right-wing nutjob “repoters” trying to raise hell every day. They can’t get the best of her. Meanwhile, over in Unreality, Hucky Boo Boo Sanders is running for governor, Kayleigh McEnany is a Fox News talking head and what is Sean Spicer doing? Still dancing in psychedelic puce colored threads? You won’t see this press secretary doing any of that crap — although I would vote for her for governor, very likely.

    • That doesn’t seem like a strange comparison, because I was recently thinking the same of Psaki’s knowledge base and thinking it reminded me of Hillary Clinton. When she was SoS and running for president, she’d get a question in an interview about the Middle East or Russia and start discussing the issue by naming military leaders, governors, mayors and local legislators by name and I’d sit in awe that someone could be such an expert.

Jen Psaki is similarly remarkable…and it’s nice to have people in government who care enough to do their jobs well again.

  3. There’s a reason why I keep hearing terms like “Psaki Bomb” and “Jedi” when it comes to her. My family live in Colorado and that is EXACTLY how voting goes out there.
