He shut something off. He didn’t think first (no surprise) he just had an idea to save money *snort* yea right no saving money around him. What the hell was he THINKING. He probably wasn’t, didn’t have the one orange brain cell. How many columns am I going to start with this. 9 days and counting towards (hopefully) only 1460. Dare we think it might happen?
So the Confused Carrot has turned federal aid back on. I wonder how many people he had screaming in his ear about This Was A Bad Idea. Since he rarely has good ideas himself (only bad ones) *someone* must have finally gotten to him. There are many, many, many organizations in the US that depend on that money. I’m not sure I could imagine what happened when the money went away. Medicaid was one of the ones mentioned and OOF a lot of people need that! Could be that even some of your MAGAts need that to live. You don’t want your MAGAts to become homeless, right? RIGHT?
This freeze lasted just under 45 hours. That’s pretty quick for back-tracking. This is not a good way to radically reshape federal spending. I understand that he’s trying to streamline things, supposedly, but wrecking a big chunk o’ change all at once with no research and no advice was really not the right way to go. I’m pretty sure there were places he would want to keep and he did not realize they were under the federal aid umbrella. I figure if he cut his salary in half and for all Congresspersons, that would save some money. But then suggest that to him? Time to duck the ketchup bottles! I hope they’ve already worked out a cleaning group for him. You really don’t want to mess up the White House. Not a good thing. There’s no way he would take less money, since he’s all about the money. Bleh.
There are any number of “things” that will be REALLY glad their funding is back. Nothing like causing panic across the country, Oh Orangutan. Nothing like yanking funding from where it NEEDS to be. Just decide something needs to be looked at and BAM there ya go, it’s stopped. Why couldn’t someone make a list of the things that need to be kept and need to be looked at. That way the Orange One has something to look at for how long his attention span lasts. But it’s better than just doing everything at once. Even a little bit at a time would be good. I wonder if Susie (his chief of staff, remember?) could manage that. She managed him on the campaign trail pretty damn well. Maybe she could manage him with this. I’m hoping he’ll hang on to her since the campaign worked so well. He’s now the President, after all. Open note to Susie – keep him under some semblance of control, please. You were subtle in the background – keep it up! Just … keep him under some sense of normality, well, as normal as it can get. Please.
******And now, please read a very special message from our awesome boss******
Friends, I am forced to self-promote and ask you for money. We had a bad year compared with 2023 and the end of the year has been catastrophic. Traffic died on November 5. sorry, but the rescinding of the order was just a temporary reset by the administration. the point behind this and other executive orders is to invite challenging lawsuits. the suits challenge the order claiming it violates existing law. the administration wants to go to court and have these laws declared unconstitutional thus allowing them to enforce the order and giving Trump more power.
Ugh and oof, thank you for the alternate (and frightening) point of view – much appreciated!
