That’s pretty much the state of things on this Thursday afternoon. I was watching news a bit earlier and saw a rather amused Eugene Robinson talking about how Trump suddenly is fighting to just make the news. He went on to suggest the day after day domination of news cycles by Harris and Democrats seems to be ‘getting’ to Trump. Well, Trump recently through a recent hissy fit at Fox News but this morning it seems he finally got an interview on friendly territory – Fox News. He might have gotten his ‘breakthrough’ with Faux News viewers but elsewhere the takeaway is different, and worse (in Trump’s view) he’s nowhere near close to being a major part of, much less dominating today’s news cycle!
This is fun for me to contemplate. A flailing Trump and Trump campaign desperately trying to get the spotlight on him and only him. Yet when they take so much as a step into the circle the freaking spotlight shifts away! Trump can’t stand not being the center of attention. Now, today as this article from the Hill notes even his meager bits of spotlight can come at the expense of Kamala Harris zinging him. Trump only had to endure a couple of minutes of direct roasting from President Obama at that WH Correspondent’s dinner. He’s going to get that again and again and oh my is he in for a world of hurt if he shows up for a one-on-one debate. (Am I the only one suddenly dreaming of a joint campaign appearance with Harris and Obama where the two the sit there trading Trump barbs?)
Trump seems to have talked pretty much like you assumed he would. He of course trashed President Biden and the address from the Oval Office last night. The worst speech by a President ever blah, blah blah. That was as predictable as the sun coming up each day. That was just for starters however. Trump is ‘bigly’ unhappy about the sudden change in who he’ll be running against. He’s agreed with the CT crap and coups and if I’m not mistaken even himself accused President Biden of orchestrating a coup. Say what? Riddle me this Trump-Man – how does someone “coup” themselves? Fox doesn’t want to pester Trump with stuff like that. If anything they don’t just ask softballs but try to help him clean up clear “uh oh – he has to walk that back” stuff. Still, the interview went on like this:
“I think it was a coup. They didn’t want him running. He was way down in the polls, and they thought he was going to lose,” Trump said. “They went to him and they said, you can’t win the race, which I think is true, unless I did something very foolish, which I wasn’t going to do. And I think he was so far down and they said, ‘You’re not going to win, and you’re not in great shape, and you did poorly in the debate.’ I think the debate started everything.
Well, it seems the Harris campaign’s response team is already in full working order and she quickly issued a response. The part that’s making more news this afternoon than Trump’s interview is a humdinger:
“After watching Fox News this morning we only have one question, is Donald Trump ok?” the campaign said, adding that a takeaway that Americans must have from the interview is if “Trump is old and quite weird” and that “this guy shouldn’t be president ever again.”
Needless to say it’s a bad, bad day to be a ketchup bottle within Trump’s reach. Or a staffer come to think of it because after learning THAT he was shouting incoherent curse words and throwing anything he could get his stubby fingered little hands on! You know, really know exactly what was whirling around at tornado speed in Trump’s head. Something along the lines of This WOMAN, this BLACK women is making fun of me. And it’s being talked about in the NEWS!
Best get ready Diaper Donnie cause there’s plenty more of THAT headed your way. I’m sure you and your team have started regrouping. We’ve seen some of the misogynistic and racist crap coming out from your team already. We know, and now Candidate Harris knows full well that far worse is coming both from you and your supporters. The thing is, Kamala Harris is a smart, tough woman who is also of black and Asian heritage who’s been dealing with both sexism and racism her entire life. As VP she even got a taste of what it’s like at the Presidential level. No, it’s not the same as what she’ll now face but it made for a pretty good practice run. I have every confidence she’ll handle it better than a lot of people (including some Democrats) think will be the case.
However, this particular Thursday is yet another in a string of days where Donald J. Trump, ‘Master of the Media” barely makes the news at all and when his name does come up it’s likely to include Harris mocking him. And also prosecuting the case against him which as the linked article notes she and her team did in addition to that part of her statement that tweaked his ugly orange nose:
“An erratic Donald Trump offers only chaos, fear, and hate. The dangerous threats of an old man don’t create jobs, protect our rights, or keep us safe. Vice President Kamala Harris offers something different: freedom, lower costs, and opportunity for all,” Harris spokesperson James Singer said.
So Donald you’ll get your wish at times. But I’m pretty sure that a LOT of those times that attention you crave isn’t going to be the kind you want to be getting.

Trump’s biggest lie has returned as another one of his forgotten, but still annoying ploys, and his panic, because of his limited experience AND education cannot possibly take one step up against the superior intelligence and MANY experiences held at ready-to-strike, all over Trump’s pathetic performances … KAMALA IS ready for the kill shots to Trump’s imagined importance, Trump will have a crippling hernia, trying to keep standing while Kamala quietly lists things that Trump has done wrong and illegally in his recent years, plus the excesses and criminal attitudes against women for most of his worthless life …
Trump may actually, physically fall down trying to not scream back at Kamala’s steamroller actions if he ever shows up for that debate he cannot wait for …
He’s looking like last week’s meatloaf, not great when it came out of the oven, but now envy- green around the edges and definitely not fit for consumption. Dumpster time for the trumpster.
Meatloaf? More like one of those big cans of ham loaf the host would sometimes use as a prop on the old Comedy Cental Colbert Report. But instead of just putting a pair of horned-rim glasses on it and calling it “Ham” (for Karl) Rove, imagine something like this only burnt to the level of one of Trump’s steaks he eats for dinner!
Be funny if Kamala placed a bowl of Mashed potatoes on the podium during the first debate.
