Please read y’all. I was given a link for this story and wanted to tell people about it. It’s kinda deep but also something we should be aware of! People *need* to know this. tRump continues to wreck America, and the dreams of a new life are cut short. Immigrant kids are going to court with no lawyers and no support. None of the children were accompanied by parents or attorneys, only shelter workers who helped them log on to the hearing. Immigrant advocates and lawyers say an increasing number of migrant children are making immigration court appearances without the assistance of attorneys, which they say will lead to more children getting deported.

The Trump administration on March 21 terminated part of a $200 million contract that funds attorneys and other legal services for unaccompanied children. Those are children who arrive without parents or legal guardians, and typically instead come with aunts, uncles, or older siblings, according to immigration attorneys.”
What the hell, guys? First, the unaccompanied children have to get here. Then they have to get into the US. And then they have to go to court to see if they can stay. I can’t even imagine what it’s like to have to leave the US again. Those kids do all of that work for seemingly nothing. Parents and relatives who want a better future for their kids will be horrified and depressed if they have to leave the country.
What happened to the American dream? Agent Orange is wrecking the economy. He’s driving away our allies. His damn tariffs have screwed us 6 ways from Sunday. They aren’t bringing money *in*. No, no, it’s consumers who have to pay because a tariff cost gets passed along to us. There are far too many things to list about how America is decimating itself. And now this? Sending immigrant *children* back across the border? That’s a disaster waiting to happen. There are so many things that could ensue with them, up to and including *dying*.
The rabid white, male adults don’t want to see someone if their skin is any color but white. It feels like we are having our own vision of Hitler taking over, and it’s NOT PRETTY. Every day, another example of this. Every day, someone tries, without funding thanks to tRump, to help the children be able to stay in the US. Most of them are far too young to understand what’s going on at a hearing, so they don’t know what to say. It *has* to be Every. Damned. Day. Well, with the possible exception of the weekend. It’s been a while since I was in NYC, so I’m not sure how this is handled anymore.

Nearly all of the people – 96% – appearing in New York state immigration courts without legal counsel are eventually ordered deported, according to data from the Transactional Records Access Clearinghouse. Meanwhile, fewer than a quarter – 23% – of those with representation are deported.” Holy cow, people! How in the H*LL are we supposed to protect the children? Why doesn’t it matter? I don’t have an answer for that. But I can say this much – the American dream is gone.
