Remember my *cough* discussion yesterday about Bozo-ino and a woman being shot off-camera? Well, here’s an update for you, and ooo is it good. Yes, we have something to celebrate for an agent, and you can bet *he* isn’t happy. It’s about damn time something happened to one of those yahoos and had him be *un*protected. Apparently, he hasn’t done the right things for Krispi Gnome yet *cough*. From Raw Story, With Love, and bonus points for guessing what the sentence is from:

The Border Patrol agent who shot a Chicago teacher five times is now under criminal investigation, MS NOW reported on Thursday. “Christopher Parente, an attorney for Marimar Martinez, said an assistant U.S. attorney in Indiana confirmed to him that Border Patrol agent Charles Exum is the subject of an investigation into the shooting of Martinez, a 31-year-old U.S. citizen and Montessori school teacher,” said the report.

“Lawyers for the government — which unsuccessfully tried to prosecute Martinez for assaulting an officer — have stated in court that there was a ‘separate but related ongoing criminal investigation,’ but have not specified its focus, according to MS NOW’s review of filings.”

Yes, Virginia, there is an attempt at justice in today’s society. Whether or not anything will come of it, well, we’ll have to wait and see. After all, ICE/CBP thinks they’ll be protected no matter what they do, and that’s exactly what’s going on with the gangster hooligans who killed Ms. Good and Mr. Pretti. Justice for *them* would really be something. Can’t see it happening. But *someone* is being investigated, so we should probably take what we can get, much as it galls us.

“A spokesperson for Customs and Border Protection told MS NOW that Exum was placed on administrative leave ‘consistent with policy,'” said the report. “It’s not clear when Exum was placed on leave or whether he is still on leave.” Body camera footage of the incident showed Exum’s Chevrolet Tahoe colliding with Martínez’s vehicle, before Exum exited the vehicle, and five shots were heard off camera.

This comes following reports that, immediately after the shooting, Exum was roundly praised in text messages by both his colleagues and Border Patrol enforcer Greg Bovino, a high-ranking figure who was overseeing the operations in Chicago at the time. “I would like to extend an offer to you to extend your retirement beyond age 57…. In light of your excellent service in Chicago, you have much left to do!!” Bovino stated.

Damn, but I hate Bozo-ino. There is nothing good about him. Arrogant, egotistical, and the rules don’t apply to him. Well, he thinks they don’t. He wouldn’t have gotten kicked out of Minnesota if they didn’t. But I digress, so back to Mr. Exum. If we are lucky, people were videoing him when this happened, so it’s going to be really damn obvious what happened. But again, it didn’t make a difference for the two who were killed, so maybe not. When are these thugs going to answer for their crimes? Will it ever happen?

President Donald Trump himself appeared to be supportive of the action, too. Bovino, for his part, went on to oversee the even more contentious “Operation Midway Blitz” in Minneapolis, which led to multiple people being fatally shot by federal agents. After these incidents, he was reassigned back to his previous mission in California, and this week, the Trump administration announced a drawdown of forces in Minnesota.

And once again, we’ll believe it when we see it.  I know people in Minnesota near Minneapolis, so if they say something about them leaving, then, and only then, would it be believable. Right now, it’s not. Exum needs to be prosecuted. Bovino needs to get kicked out, except then he could become a mercenary, which is even worse. Ms. Martinez needs to heal and then sue the hell out of them. We all know this is a developing, yet ongoing, situation, so it’s time to wait. We can hope that there will be updates and things will happen for the *right* reasons. Cross your fingers. And see you soon!

Friends, I know everyone begs you for money. I promise that among all those asking for spare change, we are the smallest and the hardest-working. We’re a group of old, disabled people, except for one writer in his mid-50s. The rest of us are in our sixties and seventies, and this is a labor of love. All we’re asking for is the chance to keep telling the truth about Trump and help ensure democracy survives. If you can help, please do. Thank you. Ursula

  1. No, it’s not serious. Miranda Martinez’s attorney announced on Wednesday they would be pursuing a personal civil suit for damages against Exum although not yet been filed to my knowledge. This must be a fake govt. criminal investigation intended to delay or derail Martinez’s pending civil trial against Exum. No doubt the real investigation will be against Martinez once again, not Exum, who remains on paid administrative leave on taxpayers $$$.
