The Big Lie is Donald Trump’s monomania. He just can’t let it alone. Take a look at the letter sent today to Brad Raffensperger, the Georgia Secretary of State, where Trump insists he’s found evidence of fraud in absentee ballots.
Trump is getting his information from an outlet called the Georgia Star News.
The Georgia Star News is a right-wing outlet founded in 2020 to push exactly the kind of story that you see here. According to Newsguard the site “does not typically conduct original reporting. Instead the site summarizes news reports from other right-leaning publications or cites interviews and social media posts from Republican politicians and conservative commentators. The sites aggregated content frequently advances misleading and unsubstantiated claims, particularly in its coverage of the 2020 U.S. presidential election.”
And as usual, it only gets worse.

May I call your attention to today’s date? It is September 17 and tomorrow, September 18 is the rally at the Capitol, ostensibly for the purpose of protesting bad treatment of so called political prisoners from the January 6 insurrection. That may well have been the intent of the rally but do you think that these other issues, the letter from Trump, and the decertification petition, are all coincidentally timed?
It’s nutty. Trump lacks a keen enough intellect to discern between truth and falsehood. If somebody shows him a falsehood that sounds cogent and serves his interest, that’s it, he buys it as truth and he throws it out to his followers and they buy it as truth as well. And it doesn’t even have to sound that cogent, it only has to serve his interests.
I’m not sure what the million signatures is supposed to do. Any ideas? Here, let’s fantasize. Come, let us fantasize together, to paraphrase LBJ, about where decertification is going.
- The million signatures will compel the Supreme Court to “pull down” the election, or alternatively, to pull down the shades and laugh hysterically;
- The signatures will be stolen by mischievous lefties, who will find the social media accounts of the signers and spam them with copious laughing emojis, complete with fart noises;
- Benjamin Franklin will return from the dead saying, “Damn. I knew I forgot something. I was supposed to draft the decertification clause. I’ll get right to it.”
- A flying saucer full of absentee ballots from Republicans abducted by aliens and now living all over the galaxy lands on the White House lawn. Klaatu emerges, wearing a MAGA hat and carrying an AR-15 and says Gort will reduce us to a cinder if Trump isn’t reinstated toute suite.

As Kenny Rodgers sang, “You gotta know when to hold ’em, know when to fold ’em” and the fraudit crazies simply do not.
She is in her Air Force uniform in her (cut and paste) photo she posted in Twitter? An insult to the moral code of all military people who understand that armed forces and politics don’t mix.
I thought that kind of thing was illegal/against UCMJ and a lot of regs.
Also, there’s no way to decertify an election after the fact. Especially 10 months after the fact – the states certified it last December, the EC voted, and Congress accepted both on 1/6. Surely she should know that.
That slope collapsed nearly 40 years ago when Oliver North appeared in front of Congress IN UNIFORM for the Iran-Contra hearings. While he *MIGHT* have had the legal right to do so, I remain convinced the reason he appeared in uniform was for show. He admitted shredding documents (was he in uniform when he did that?) at CIA director William Casey’s suggestion (last time I checked, the CIA has ZERO authority over anyone or anything *INSIDE* the USA and, most certainly, Casey was not in the military’s chain of command).
So, she looks pretty sharp in uniform, probably looks pretty good in the cockpit of a fighter jet, I just can’t see her for the turd she has become … totally against everything the military stands for … laying praise on a failed criminal pretend president who, with his intense lack of knowledge and self-centered needs is absolutely the LAST person that was and should NOT be again … responsible for the deaths of hundreds of thousands of American citizens …
Somebody get out the nets and ropes there is a pretty good chance this weekend may have a showing of crazies that need some control …
I wonder if those ‘missing’ ballots turned up to have been hidden in one of Mike Lindell’s pillows?
