If you had to encapsulate Donald Trump’s character in one anecdote, this would be the one. Or certainly in the top ten. The essence of Trump is that he’s a fraud. He loves being a fraud and playing everybody for suckers. He gets to do this with ease because he was born to great wealth and the trappings of wealth have always been there for him.

While he robs from the poor to line his own pockets, stiffs contractors and exploits workers at the drop of a hat, he presents a facade of being one of the beautiful people. The story you’re about to hear here is the concept of noblesse oblige. Because Trump is the nobleman, he must prosper and gift the peasants of the realm — and even other noblemen, and Charlie Sheen certainly qualifies as being one of the beautiful people as well. Except with Sheen it’s legitimate, he is handsome and does have talent. This tale has been out there for years, if you haven’t heard it before, be ready to fall over.

This is who the man is. This is his very essence. Trump must have figured out that Charlie Sheen would eventually figure out what he had as a gift. But here’s another thought: maybe the performance wasn’t meant for Trump, maybe it was meant for Melania? Melania may buy into a lot of the facade. I’m sure that she does. She believes that he’s some big, important guy because money, to someone like her, equals competence, knowledge, stature. Trump has his father’s money and that’s it. That is not the same as being a person who has legitimately created an empire for himself, like Warren Buffet or Jeff Bezos. As I’ve said many times before, Melania and Donald are the perfect match. She’s an ignorant, untutored bimbo and he’s a charlatan par excellence.

Now that was a scene from Xmas past, here’s one from Xmas present. What I love about these clips that Ron Filipkowski posts is that these are coming from Mar-a-Lago. Trump has left-wing spies right there in his midst. Enemies in Trump’s camp take these and then pass them right along.

The macho macho man.

One lesson Trump has taught us all over and over again: So many people buy appearances. If you can put up a good front, that’s enough to con most people. Form triumphs over substance. The only problem with that, is that there comes a point where what’s real comes out and you realize how you’ve been hoodwinked. I wonder if the MAGA faithful will ever realize the truth or if they’ll go to their graves believing that the 2020 election was stolen from Trump? Moreover, I wonder if he’ll go to his grave believing the same thing? Because the bizarre truth about Trump is that once he tells a lie, he then believes it.

  1. The cultists will continue to believe his lies because not doing so requires them to do two things they cannot do: think and acknowledge they were wrong. Believing Trump is intrinsically part of their identity, and they avoid self examination.
