It’s about damn time. Finally, one of the thugs screws up and gets himself in trouble with something that’s blatantly against the law. Let’s have a hip, hip, hooray! This is a good one, and harks back to something that was recently discussed here. CBP and ICE are full of thugs, but what goes around comes around. Busted! With gratitude to Raw Story:

A U.S. Customs and Border Patrol employee is facing charges after a Minnesota state trooper found him passed out in his car this week, “covered in vomit,” according to a report. Alfredo Mancillas Jr., 31, of Corpus Christi, Texas, was found in St. Paul “slumped over in the driver’s seat” around 3:30 a.m. near Allianz Field, according to court documents reviewed by the Sahan Journal. The vehicle reeked of booze and was parked illegally in a no-parking zone.

We need to pity whoever found him because the smell alone must have been wretched. And touching him? Wow, I hope they had gloves. How gross can you get? This should make us cringe just to *think* about it. We can doubt that this guy is going to get out of this one, especially if (and hoping) the state trooper had an active body camera going. This is one of those times when we can hope the trooper was doing what he was supposed to do, because it’s pretty damn rare these days.

Mancillas displayed telltale signs of intoxication, including “bloodshot and watery eyes” along with visible vomit all over him, the report said. After failing a field sobriety test, the agent refused to take a breath test. He was arrested and faces charges of 3rd and 4th degree driving while impaired.

Oh, yes. Now, did he have the right to refuse a breath test? Not sure about that one. If anyone knows, please enlighten me. On the other hand, it could almost be considered the icing on the cake to have him take a breath test. Either way, Mancillas was visibly intoxicated. For that to be stated, well, he’s going to have a tough time defending himself. If you’re a lawyer, run fast and far away from this guy. Yuck.

The Department of Homeland Security admitted the agent was arrested, stating that “CBP stresses honor and integrity in every aspect of our mission,” while confirming its Office of Professional Responsibility is investigating. Mancillas is expected back in court on March 24. The arrest occurred during Operation Metro Surge, the massive federal immigration crackdown that has flooded Minnesota with 3,000 federal agents.

Honor and integrity? Yea no. Just no. Remember Bozo-ino was the leader of CBP. I fervently hope Mancillas doesn’t slide out of this. At least *someone* could be clobbered for something, since it seems they aren’t going to be otherwise. The lack of investigation into what happened in Minneapolis does not give us much to look for. Also, allow me to emphasize again: three *thousand* agents. Incidentally, they are pulling out of Maine, according to another article. And supposedly, Trump wants to de-escalate the situation in Minnesota in general and Minneapolis specifically. Yea no (again). They’ll say pretty things, and nothing will change. Right now, it’s about optics.  We cannot expect any actual improvement. But. We can still hope.

Friends, I know everyone begs you for money. I promise that among all those asking for spare change, we are the smallest and the hardest-working. We’re a group of old, disabled people, except for one writer in his mid-50s. The rest of us are in our sixties and seventies, and this is a labor of love. All we’re asking for is the chance to keep telling the truth about Trump and help ensure democracy survives. If you can help, please do. Thank you. Ursula

  1. Not surprising considering most of the “new ICE recruits” are the same J6 terrorist scum pardoned by the Criminal in Chief who were fired from private sector jobs when their criminal activity came to light.

They jumped at the chance at the fast money signing bonus and the right to attack and abuse immigrant brown people as well as US citizens without fear of consequences.

They are filthy disgusting criminals and redneck dirt. Nothing more.

    • They serve Donold’s purposes, so they are useful. Susan you are right to not expect things to really change. tRump will continue his rein of terror, merely adjusting to be less obvious. He won’t stop until someone makes him.

      • Yea, if nothing else, they direct attention away from him. Too bad he’s responsible for the actions of the DHS. *cough* I would like to hope for change, except that Donnie *won’t” change. The only way to stop him right now is for Mother Natures to step in.

    • Exactly. I figured any and every thug would try to become an ICE agent. A couple of them won’t be able to join because they are already back in jail. I am gloating.

  2. No one has the right to refuse a field sobriety or breathalyzer test. If you refuse, you are automatically deemed intoxicated and arrested. What is bothersome is that unless someone witnessed him driving the car, he could have just crawled into the driver’s seat and passed out. Even if convicted, these are minimal charges, and the creep will probably be fined and released (depending on his prior record).

    • Thank you for the information! Down here, if you are drunk and have the keys with you it’s automatically drunk driving in court. We could be so lucky? But as you said, not going to happen.

    • In the states I’ve lived in if you refuse to take a breathalyzer you automatically lose your DL for one year, minimum, on top of any other charges.
