So, you might say? People sell stocks all the time, any time. What’s different about this? Why should it matter if one of them sells some? Let me show you. From Raw Story:
Rep. Rob Bresnahan (R-PA) was caught selling stock for a company providing Medicaid exchanges just days before President Donald Trump’s so-called “One Big Beautiful Bill” was expected to pass with drastic cuts to the program.
Now, isn’t that interesting? Rep. Bresnahan sold his stock in a company that was unlikely to receive any more patronage due to the cuts. He bet on the bill passing; it did, and showed he was right to do so. That’s a bit nasty, there, Republican ass. We won’t get into how the company is likely to go out of business now.
Quiver Quantitative first reported that Bresnahan recently began selling his shares of Centene, which acts as an intermediary for government-sponsored healthcare programs. “The stock has now fallen 43% since his sale,” Quiver revealed on Thursday. Rep. Melanie Stansbury (D-NM) slammed Bresnahan for the move. “This Congressman literally dumped stock in a Medicaid provider company right before this bill came to the Floor,” Stansbury wrote Thursday on X. “Don’t be fooled—these guys know exactly what they’re doing.” Over 10 million people were expected to lose health care after the president signed the spending bill.
Ten *million*. Good gods. That’s not a small number. And a lot of that 10 million will probably die because they can’t get the treatment they need, after this bill goes through. I am getting angrier every time I hear about something else in the damn thing. I hope they got the damn provision out that would have made Trump the king of this country. It hasn’t been in the news much anymore.
So, this one is actually going to be short and sweet. Mark the day on your calendars, folks, because we know this doesn’t happen much. The f***ing thing has passed. Billionaires, the oligarchs, have the tax cuts they wanted. And in return, it’s going to wreak havoc on the rest of us. Let the games begin! (EDIT: Yes, king was cut. Whew!) Thanks for sticking with me!
We thank all of you who have donated. You’re keeping this blog on the internet, believe me. One of the battles we fight is the inconsistency of ad revenue because politics in this country is so polarized, and a lot of advertisers just seek to avoid the political. They’d rather advertise on food blogs and be safe, doughnuts before democracy. All we’re trying to do is stay in business because we believe the work is important. Thank you if you can assist. If we didn’t need it, we wouldn’t be asking. Ursula

To paraphrase George Carlin concerning the economic and political situation in America…you have three classes: the rich, who keep all the money and pay no taxes; the middle class, working the shit jobs for the rich, who pay all the taxes; and the poor, who serve the rich by scaring the shit out of the middle class so they will show up for work. Politicians are just camouflage for the rich, so the ignorant voting sobs think they have a say, and will keep voting in the rich. Sounds on point.
Well said, sir!
