Lauren Boebert, locked in a tight general election race in her bid to continue representing Colorado’s 3rd Congressional District in November, managed to capture what could turn out to be a key un-endorsement from her Republican primary opponent…Don Coram.
Coram will vote for Democrat Adam Frisch.
“Calling Boebert the “poster child” for the dangers of excessive partisanship, state Sen. Don Coram, R-Montrose, on Wednesday said that while he differs with Democrat Adam Frisch on plenty of issues, he believes the Aspen businessman can better represent the Western Slope-based 3rd Congressional District.
“I believe Adam Frisch is a good man,” Coram wrote in a guest column for the Montrose Press. “I have had the opportunity to visit with him and get to know him better over the last few months. I know him to be decent, honest, and persistent. He has demonstrated that he is more interested in representing the district than being a celebrity. That’s important.”
Mmmmm. Looks like someone in unimpressed by Boebert’s celebrity seeking antics and absolute dearth of legislative accomplishments.
Boebert bested Coram by a 2-1 margin this summer in the primary, showing the strength of her nutjob base in the primary contest, but general elections tend to bring out many more voters than do primaries, and Coram’s sway with 1/3 of Republican voters may just be enough for Frisch to make up ground in a race that is said by some to be within the polling margin of error.
Predictably Boebert attacked Coram saying he votes like a “liberal Democrat”, but Coram had some more choice words for her as well:
“Let’s elect someone who cares about representing the majority of people in the middle that are fed up with extreme partisanship and juvenile antics.”…
…”Bottom line, instead of working to represent the people in the 3rd CD, Lauren spends her time jet-setting around the country promoting herself and extreme rhetoric that only divides this country further,” Coram wrote. “It’s disgraceful and we should expect more from our United States representative.”
You can say that again, Don…
What some others think:
Thank you, Jon. Don Coram is a great man and I'm excited to come together to work with him on our main goal… defeating Lauren Boebert! If that is your main goal too, chip in here! https://t.co/8phJQLoXh0

Way to go Don! Come on Colorado, D-3 voters, vote for Adam Frisch because he has some great ideas and will work in congress for you! He won’t be a blow-hard, do nothing representative, that has no clue about democracy. Vote Adam!

Don't nobody want another Republican elected to do nothing. Lauren Boebert doesn't even have one receipt to show something she did in Congress. pic.twitter.com/bGnFoE3IeS

Yup
Go Adam!

I have seen this on both sides, it can be a big deal. bobe is out there, I don’t think that is what her voters want and when the local republican shoots you down in a close race, that is a bad sign.
It would be better if the margins were on our side were more ahead
