Bookies Lay Odds Waltz Likely To Get Hatchet, Hegseth Right Behind Him

Friday is the day that it has been predicted that Trump will bump somebody to quell the furor over SignalGate. That prediction makes complete sense. So far the two top names of who’s going to get bumped are Mike Waltz, one, and Pete Hegseth, two. I’ve been predicting Mike Waltz and the New York Times mentioned in an article today that they have an anonymous source who states Trump is livid with Waltz. I believe that. In any event, here’s what the professionals say.

I’m sure J.D. will be elated to know that if anybody goes, it will not be he. And that makes perfect sense. Vance is an elected official, not appointed and Senate-confirmed. It’s not impossible for Trump to bump him, but it is most improbable. Of course, Trump could always sic the mob on him like he did with his first vice president. Or, Vance might be able to antagonize MAGA all on his own. Making enemies appears to be J.D.’s stock in trade, so he may use it to self destruct. Who knows?

Let’s see what we’re talking about 24 hours (or less) from now. If I was Mike Waltz, I would not be sleeping well tonight. And Hegseth, to all intents and purposes, is on probation. If he has one more screw up, he may well be out the door, too.
