This is somewhat surprising but I guess we’re not fully through the woods here. And maybe some people are not going to get through the woods. Rob Reiner came out a few days ago and asked Joe Biden to step down. Then two days later George Clooney did the same. And along with these worthies we have had various senators and congress members also ask the president to step down. Now, the issue with the “step down” part is it begs the question of who is to step up? There is no other issue besides that. And the answer: there is no miracle candidate. Plus, Joe Biden was in Michigan earlier and he announced — again — he’s staying in the race. So here’s where it stands with Reiner and the rest of the Blue Falcon Squad.

Now on to the rest of the Blue Falcon Squad. The term “blue falcon” is from the Marine corps and it stands for “buddy fucker.” If you Google it you get, “A supposed comrade whose actions harm his friends, often but not always, for his own benefit.” Here, the president’s supposed “friends” are all backstabbing him on social media. Still. Rick Wilson chimes in.
Right now, the Blue Falcon Squad of the Democratic apparat isn’t trying to tear down Donald Trump. Their considerable hatred and energy is focused on cracking Biden’s spirit. They’ve largely gone silent on Trump’s continued evils, insanity, venality, and promises of darkness.
Biden’s press conference after the NATO Summit in DC was strong, coherent, and seems to have shocked the Acela Corridor, but I’m not sure that it’s enough.
The headwinds are real, and terrible. For some, the Frenzy will never stop until Joe Biden is driven from office. In the words of one observer, “The media is treating the President like a criminal and a criminal like the President.”
The game will change in the coming days. No one without the last name “Biden” knows how this moment of chaos, betrayal, and despair will play out.
If the Democratic chaos doesn’t end soon, we but we know what’s ahead. We know what’s in store. We know the fate that awaits us.
It shouldn’t take the former Republican to tell you how to solve this problem, folks.
And it gets worse. The Daily Beast is reporting that there’s a “heavyweight plan” to talk to Biden and get him to step down. Sigh. I hope this is fantasy. Because if this is based in fact, this party is more on the moon than I would have dared to ever believe possible. And this has today’s date on it, I just double checked.
The latest plan to try and force President Joe Biden to drop out of the presidential race would see a group of heavyweight “super friends” from the top of the Democratic Party head to the White House together to speak with a united voice and tell him that time is up.
“The super friends are assembling,” a House Democrat told Politico. “There’s a group of people who are going to go make their case to whomever they can get to at the White House that he needs to step aside and we’re going to get our asses kicked if he doesn’t.”
The plan would see a group of Biden’s oldest and most senior Democratic colleagues come together to make a definitive statement on behalf of the party that it would be damaging if the president were to continue. It is hoped that team would include Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, President Pro Tempore Patty Murray, House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, and Rep. Jim Clyburn (D-SC).
The alleged showdown would end the perception that Democratic leaders are divided about whether Biden, 81, can serve as president for another four years.
On Wednesday, Pelosi stopped short of endorsing Biden, saying, “It’s up to the president to decide if he is going to run. We’re all encouraging him to make that decision. Because time is running short.”
Schumer, a once staunch Biden ally who has insisted he is “for Joe,” has reportedly been privately signaling to donors that he is open to an alternative candidate.
Some of Biden’s top supporters, including former President Barack Obama, are reportedly working on getting Biden to quit the race, but there is no clarity on who would take over or by what mechanism they should be selected.
The divide among Semocrats and the backlash that Biden has received show an unstable party that would suffer against former President Donald Trump in the voting booth. Trump is reportedly preparing for a “landslide win” in November, according to The Atlantic, which reports that Trump’s campaign is “all but praying Joe Biden doesn’t drop out.”
I think that’s their mistake, if that’s true. Trump can be beaten by Biden. By some mystery candidate, some understudy put in the starring role, I say no. That person can’t beat Trump. But Joe can. Joe has. And Joe will again.
I guess the ultimate issue here is that some people have the belief that there’s some mystery candidate who can magically lead us in the charge up the hill. I think that is sheer wistful thinking. If that person existed, s/he would have made herself evident long before now.
It’s not Kamala. Kamala would do fine if God forbid something happened to Joe. I have faith in that. But Kamala shows us nothing and never has which indicates that if only she were on the top of the 2024 ticket and not Joe we’d be cruising towards a massive landslide. She doesn’t have those kinds of approval ratings to warrant that kind of speculation.
So, if any of these pundits can actually NAME a candidate, that’s the next step. Who would you suggest, Mr. Reiner? Or, Mr. Clooney? Or, Mr. King? And we could go on. If we all agree right now, collectively, to say, “Okay. We’ll do it! We’ll replace Joe this nanosecond. WHO is the new candidate? Give us the name and consider it done. POOF!” I’m going to bet the next sound you would hear from these three named people would be crickets. And do you know why? Because there isn’t anybody. And all that these people are doing, these “Semocrats”, is undermining our candidate and his campaign.
But maybe there’s a silver lining and that would be that this adversity will unite the rest of us. That could in fact be. There is no magical candidate to replace Joe Biden at this late hour. The task at hand, as said above in a tweet, is to either grab an oar and row or get the fuck out of the boat and let the rest of us sail it home.
I’ve noted with more than a little dismay that not one single person on this “step aside Mr. President” has gone on to day “and endorse Vice-President Harris in your stead.” THAT scares the hell out of me. You want to rip the Party, the country and the world apart then this cabal being spoken of who think the President should drop out should force him to do so and yet allow for an “open” convention to fight it out. There goes the black vote and more importantly black women who have been and will if we don’t piss them off continue to be the backbone of the Party. With them all things are possible. Without them? It’s too terrible to contemplate and shoving Harris aside, or even failing to with one voice say she should take over would mean the Democratic Party is done and not just at the Presidential level.
I agree with you wholeheartedly that the question none of these donors and/or celebrities and Democrats in positions of power can, or are willing to do is name someone. Or, what if they are serious put their heads together and agree to throw their support behind. I simply don’t believe VP Harris wants anything to do with this. She’s not going to stab the President. She’s better than that. Whitmer has said no. Other names that have been floated might be trying to mount a stealth effort to get “drafted” but that’s cowardice. Even for someone famous and admired it’s a non-starter. Just have a seance and ask General Douglas McCarthur who approved his top aides trying to put him forward as a candidate. They were soooooo sure the country, with McCarthur’s name on a ballot would vote for him overwhelmingly. It didn’t happen that way. Ole Doug got humiliated and turned his attention to what he was good at. I think in his heart he knew it was a foolish idea as he moved on quickly and ignored the whole thing. For a man with HIS ego that suggests to me he knew it was a lost cause.
But my point is that if someone doesn’t have the guts to stand up and declare then they aren’t made of Presidential stuff. At least not now. And we need someone with a steel spine. We have one, and he happens to be the only person who’s beaten Trump since very, very early in the 2016 primaries. Joe Biden has the right stuff. Period.

I did not know General MacArthur was once encouraged to run for President. He couldn’t even stay in the Philippines with his troops when the Japanese invaded the island nation he swore to defend. He took his family and left the country. He came back when it was all over but the shouting. Quite the presidential material.

What was it I read recently that it is TOO LATE to change the candidate on ballots in several swing states we NEED to be able to win? NO ONE IS PAYING ATTENTION TO THAT! Damn these bastards intent upon LOSING.
So, these whiny folks have already just gone ahead and conceded Ohio’s electoral votes to the GOP, I guess. Maybe they’ve forgotten that the state was going to prevent Biden’s name from appearing on the ballot simply because the Democratic Convention wouldn’t officially name him as its candidate until after a “deadline” for names to be submitted.
Does ANYONE with half a brain really think that any “last-minute” replacement for Biden will be allowed to appear on the Ohio ballot? The state ONLY conceded because Biden was effectively the nominee and the Convention was only a “formality.” I bet that the election officials who concocted the initial plan to keep Biden off the ballot will NOT hesitate to refuse ballot access for any replacement for Biden.
And I’m sure there are plenty of other GOP-controlled states (which have still gone “blue” for presidential elections) that wouldn’t hesitate to do the same thing.

Ursula, reiner is a man with the intelligence usually displayed by pond algae. A man of “his intelligence” will babble a bunch of syllables that occasionally come together in the proper order to make a readable sentence–like 50,000 monkeys at typewriters for x thousands of years coming up with the script of Hamlet (which is WAY more than reiner could ever do in BILLIONS of years). Stop giving him any credit let alone more, much more, than he deserves.

I am convinced at this point, that they know the voters have spoken and want President Biden for four more years, but they are hoping to preempt, that, first, by getting him to drop out, with all the knifing, and if that doesn’t work a brokered convention, which ignores the vote of the people and the convention would get to chose. Sen Peter Welch(er), in his attack on Biden says as much, that people in the know have ways to accomplish this:

Bernie Sanders, my Senator just a few hours ago gave a full throated endorsement of Biden in an op-ed piece in the NYTimes. He also ruled out that he is open to running in 2024.
