There are so many variables to this race now, it’s like a juggling act. So many balls went up into the air when Joe Biden made his historic announcement about finishing his term as president but turning over the election keys to his vice president, Kamala Harris. Conceivably somebody else could be nominated at the convention in Chicago but for the moment, let’s go with what we know, Kamala Harris is the presumptive Democratic nominee for the 47th president of the United States. Trump immediately reacted in fear when he heard this announcement and wanted to change the debate venue from ABC News to Fox News. But then he started whining and feeling sorry for himself.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! He’s bouncing off the damn walls right now! And here’s an interesting point that Rachel Maddow made. Go to 1:40 in this clip.She’s saying that J.D. Vance was a choice made to spew MAGA toxin to the base and not to campaign. Vance isn’t a good campaigner. And unfortunately, with today’s change of course, Trump desperately needs a good campaigner. And Trump more or less said that in his post to Truth Social, that he has to “start all over.” Yep, Donald. You do. Life’s a bitch and then you die.
Now there is where it starts to get comical.Trump is still lashing out at Biden, calling him a “liar” and saying he didn’t have COVID. Who cares either way? Biden’s gone now, Donald. He’s going to be finishing up his term and cleaning out his desk. He’s taking the high road out. So why are you wasting time attacking him instead of your adversary?
You are going to get your ass handed to you politically by a Black woman.

Trump’s tweet ends, “incompetent man who should never have been President. Joe Biden is not fit to serve – He is destroying our Country!” What is wrong with this man? Biden is OUT of the GAME, now, focus on your adversary!
I would not want to be Susie Wiles or Chris LaCivita right now. And it’s pretty clear that they’ve already spoken to Trump and this is where he’s getting his “start over” spiel. Yes, they do have to start over, to remaster their campaign. But that’s not the biggy. The biggy is that they have to remaster their candidate. And that is a horse of quite a different color.
And Trump CAN’T change his spots! He’s not that facile. He’s not that adroit. He’s been on this anti-Biden dirge for over four years now, (when he’s not confusing Joe with Barack Obama) and he lacks the mental capacity to simply be schooled in a new set of facts and switch gears.
This is excruciating for Trump. It’s going to be a highly entertaining 107 days for us, and an excruciating time for Trump. Sad.

::chuckling at tRump’s meltdown::
I’ve seen some angst about her being a black woman…funny I thought she was mixed. Anyway the country got over the race thing TWICE with Obama. The country also gave Hillary 3 MILLION MORE VOTES despite her being the target of gop lies for decades. That was when the con man had bamboozled the country with the Apprentice. Now HE HAS A RECORD. He also is a 34 count convicted felon, a convicted rapist in civil court, on the hook for 90something million to Ms Carroll, on the hook for half a billion as a tax cheat, awaiting trial on stolen top secret documents, awaiting trial in Georgia, FERMENTED AN VIOLENT INSURRECTION not wanting to give up power, STILL LYING about an election from four years ago, and filled the Supreme Court with corrupt judges, an accused rapist, a religious cult member, and WHO ENDED WOMEN’S rights they’ve had since 1973, and HE’S THE DEMENTED MORON. There’s more but I don’t want to beat a dead horse…just a dead gop nazi candidate. Angst? Not here. At least nothing compared to what going on in Florida. Don’t order fries…there’s no ketchup to be had.
On the “country got over the race thing TWICE with Obama,” just remember that Obama LOST TWO states in 2012 that he unexpectedly won in 2008 (Indiana and North Carolina) as well as losing Nebraska’s 2nd Congressional district AND he shed nearly 4 million voters from 2008 to 2012 (Romney didn’t benefit from those lost votes, only picking up about a million from McCain’s 2008 performance so *something* happened to nearly 3 million voters).
And, I’ll point out that post-election polling indicated that Obama got 43% of the white vote in 2008 but only 39% in 2012. If the country REALLY got over the race thing, Obama wouldn’t have shed that much support after just 1 term (and, also, we got that whole “white grievance teabagger” movement within months of Obama’s inauguration).
Please do not forget Dobbs. Things are very, very different now. Very different.
Oh…I forgot…hey diaper donny…b4 any money is talked about…first pay ms Carroll her 93 mil and the 600 million YOU OWE for fraud!
I have no doubt Trump will quickly, if not later tonight then tomorrow regardless of what LaCavita, Wiles and anyone else advises retreat to familiar ground. What he is and always has been which is racist and sexist. Oh, the “marketing” part of him, the one skill (selling himself) had and I emphasize had skills and knew how to soften the edges just enough for his bigly Tee Vee show. But who he actually is leaked out of him some during the 2016 campaign. MAGAs of course lapped it up with a spoon. As did too many indepedents in some critical swing states. But when you look over time Trump let both his racist and sexist freak flags increasingly fly. Not that if blowback was intense he wouldn’t do some walking back by paying a little lip service to “supporting” women and blacks. And trot out tokens to “prove” it but WE knew the truth and the MAGAs knew the code and understood the wink wink nod nod part too.
Trump’s one hope against Harris is to use the tools of racism and sexism against her. How effective it will be remains to be seen. However it is what he’s always been so the only question is how hard and dirty he’ll play. I have strong doubts he’s capable of discplining himself anymore, and will wind up cutting loose doing everything but using the N and C words. If that happens every MAGA out there will come out in droves. However that’s not enough to win and never has been. The question will be whether Republicans who have never liked Trump (only some of his tax and regulation cutting. And judges/justices) meekly submitted to Trump will, when it comes time to cast a vote actually do so. Or just stay home, leave the top of the ballot blank or vote for someone else. Not Harris of course. But not voting for Trump is almost as good as a vote for Harris.
So that’s the question they’ll face. Deal with a couple of years of likely full Democratic rule and hope to retake one or both chambers of Congress in 2026, and of course retake the WH in 2028 or go ahead and vote for Trump. However, the ensuing instability would be bad for business and they and business people know it. It would be bad for national security. Likely even worse than they imagine. And with Project 2025 implemented the slightest bit of Aposty will wind up costing them dearly. It would be like the old USSR where people would inform on friends and even relatives. And while SOME people will (for a while at least) get a pass for past anti-Trump statements anyone else will be closely monitored.
Cast against all that, if Trump goes overboard and Independents start shifting Harris way I think instead of fishing a few million Repubicans might choose to quietly and secretly cut bait. Take the loss, and fall back & regroup before the next election. One in which Trump will be convicted of more felonies and maybe even in prison. And if still free on appeal broke because his Trump Org will have imploded.
