I guess the good news is that I haven’t become totally jaded and numbed because listening to this made me feel like my head might explode. My favorite right-wing nut job host, Stew Pidd, aka Peters, did his usual unctuous and sanctimonious endorsement of a totally absurd proposition. Today’s madness has to do with making an analogy between the enslavement of blacks in this country and abortion.
Yes, friends, a fetus which is aborted suffers the same kind of abuse as people who were born into slavery, lived diminished and frequently brutal lives, and died, never knowing what it was to be free. A fetus is in the same boat. These are two classes of persons, similarly situated.
What an argument. Listen to stupidity of a magnitude that you didn’t know was possible. As Einstein quipped, genius has its limits, but stupidity? Never.

It gets stranger, still, if you can believe it. Foster care is believed to become a booming industry because of a “surplus” as its been put of babies up for adoption — and/or foster care. This is predicted to be, because of the elimination of legal abortion.
Now I have known people who ended up in foster care for one reason or another and it can be hellish. A lot of people who get into that system are grifters. They don’t care about the kids they foster. They’re looking for a check from the government and the government doesn’t check up on the kids and abuses all that much.
And that’s the system that will flourish and thrive in this brave new world of limited abortion access.

A lot of adoption/foster agencies are church-affiliated, and if you’re not Christian or a straight white couple, you’re out of luck. But a “good Christian family” can have live-in girlfriends, parents who leave the kids at home for a Vegas weekend, and other such things, and still be acceptable.
