Back in July, Michael Avenatti said he would announce his run for the 2020 Presidential race if he thought there was no other candidate who had a real chance at beating Trump. Well, he is currently in Iowa where he is scheduled to speak at the Democratic Wing Ding fundraiser Friday night in Clear Lake – and has announced that he is “exploring a run for the presidency of the United States”.
The event in Clear Lake is a platform for presidential hopefuls and rising stars alike – Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders were there in 2015 and Barack Obama headlined the event during his first run for president in 2007.
When are you announcing your 2020 run?

IF (big) he seeks re-election, I will run, but only if I think that there is no other candidate in the race that has a REAL chance at beating him. We can't relive 2016. I love this country, our values and our people too much to sit by while they are destroyed. #FightClub #Basta

According to the Des Moines Register, Avenatti said, “I’m exploring a run for the presidency of the United States, and I wanted to come to Iowa and listen to people and learn about some issues that are facing the citizens of Iowa and do my homework.”
In response to claims that his interest for a presidential run stems from an effort to raise his own personal profile, Avenatti said, “I would never think to come to Iowa in order to use the state or the people of the state to raise my profile. And obviously if I do this, then I intend to work hard and I know that ultimately the trust of the citizens of Iowa is going to have to be earned.”
Avenatti obviously doesn’t think there is any other candidate likely to emerge who has a real chance at beating Trump and I have to agree. He’s a fighter, knows how to push Trump’s buttons. He has the best chance at removing that orange-faced baboon from the Oval office and for me, that’s all that matters.
