Everything is in play. They don’t need to be comfortable in their seat. The blue wave is on the way, and they don’t have the experience to go out, have town halls, actually* meet* the people who put them in office. If they don’t, they had best prepare for what they’re going to do when they lose their seats. And this isn’t just in the congressional chambers. This is state and local, too.
The people of America are tired and angry about many things. They don’t think Republicans have done anything but grovel to Trump. Trump started breaking his promises nearly immediately. People believed in them. Guess what, red politicians? They should have started working a long time ago if they wanted to keep their seat. Nothing is comfortable anymore, and if you snooze, you lose. This time, *anyone* can be knocked out of a seat. Watch the newspapers. Watch the odds for your position. Whatever you do, don‘t kick back and be confident. (You know they won’t) Then don’t be surprised when you lose.
The blue wave is already powering up. It’s about 6 ish weeks away. The polls are astounding. Nobody ever expected our Democrat to do well in Texas, but he is. He definitely is. Word is coming in about red seats that are in play, or worse, expecting the blue to win. Nothing is comfortable for anyone that’s red. Texas is in play. Other states are in play, all seats that were thought to be comfortably red, and aren’t anymore. Isn’t it glorious?
Now it’s time for some information, with respect to MS NOW guest Charlie Dent via Raw Story:
Former Rep. Charlie Dent (R-PA) on MS NOW Thursday: Many of you who have never had to run in a competitive seat will suddenly find your seat up for grabs in November. This came amid a discussion of right-wing talk radio host Steve Deace, who is currently panicking over data he is seeing behind the scenes in Iowa as Democrats reportedly put seats that voted for President Donald Trump by double digits in play.
“I’ve been saying for months that if you’re an R+10, R+12 district, you’re going to be in the fight of your life,” said Dent, who himself retired from Congress in anticipation of the 2018 blue wave. “That’s real trouble … a lot of these members who are in those seats are R+15, R+10. They’ve never had to run a general election before.”
Now, he said, “they’re going to find out the hard way. They’re in a real fight for their lives. And many of them don’t know how to position themselves for a general election.” As an example from 2018, Dent cited former Oklahoma Rep. Steve Russell. “He lost. Nobody saw that coming. But one of those cases where the wave was really big. And this guy was not really concerned about a general election. He lost.”
That sounds pretty damn good to me. Higher seats are in play? Nice. Every little bit helps. But back on topic, this article was very good when discussing our chances. Please do as Denis requests and reach out to your Congress critters, and don’t stop. Reach out to your other Democratic hopefuls. If nothing else, you can tell them that you’re in their corner. That helps more than someone might think. I’m going to write to my Congressman, who is in a hellacious battle where he seems to be leading. But then, he did get known after the offhand remark about Natalie. This is a red state, but if things changed in 2020 (except Trump), we can win it again.

Friends, I know everybody begs you for money. I promise you that, of all the outlets bugging you for spare change, we are the smallest and the hardest-working. We’re a bunch of old, disabled people, except for one writer in his mid-50s. But the rest of us are in our sixties and seventies, and this is a labor of love.
