Evidently Allen Weisselberg has had enough of Alina Habba, which is a posture that more people will take as time goes on. She is one of those lawyers, like Rudy Giuliani, who has acquired a reputation for being able to plead a traffic ticket down to first degree murder. She’s constantly on right-wing media huffing and puffing and bragging how she’s going to sue E. Jean Carroll for attorney fees, but the days go by and no appellate lawyer has been hired either for the Carroll appeal or for the Trump Organization fraud trial appeal. If somebody had been hired, it would be in the court docket where Weisselberg’s notice of changing attorneys was found. All those developments show up in court paperwork first and reporters watch for them.
“IT IS HEREBY CONSENTED THAT MORIAN Law PLLC, 60 East 42nd Street, Suite 4600, New York, NY 10165, be substituted as counsel of record for Defendant, Allen Weisselberg, in place and stead of Habba Madaio & Associates LLP, 112 West 34th St, 17th & 18th Floors, New York, NY 10120,” the filing said.
Weisselberg, a former chief financial officer of the Trump Organization, has been a key figure in Donald Trump’s business empire for decades.
In March, he pleaded guilty Monday to lying during his testimony in Trump’s fraud trial and is expected to be sentenced to gibe months in prison.
In 2022, Weisselberg had pleaded guilty to 15 criminal charges, including grand theft, criminal tax fraud, and falsifying business records. This plea came after investigations into the Trump Organization’s financial practices.
As a result, he began serving a jail sentence in January 2023 and was released in April 2023.
Additionally, a ruling in February 2024 banned him from serving in any financial control function in New York corporations or businesses and from being a director or officer in any New York corporation or business for three years.
By September 2021, Trump hired Habba as part of his legal team, replacing several long-standing lawyers. Since then, she has represented Trump in numerous high-profile cases, including lawsuits against The New York Times, Trump’s niece Mary L. Trump, and defamation cases. Habba was also brought on by Weisselberg.
Alina doesn’t have time to represent Weisselberg anyhow, she’s way too busy partying at Mar-a-Lago. Meanwhile, a week from today the hush money trial starts, unless Trump’s lawyers find a way to delay it. Trump is supposedly trying to find a way to sue Judge Juan Merchan directly and we will have a post on that up soon.

Oh well, it’s back to fixing traffic/parking tickets again. rotflmao
I wonder who is paying her tab at Mar a Largo? Herself?
Seems like Weisselberg had enough charges for him to be doing years instead of months in prison. But what caught my attention was dumping Habba for his lawyer, which I surmise that she was paid by Trump and as we all know what happens when Trump foots ANY bill, especially lawyer fees.
Think the Weisselberg birdie didn’t like his cage very much and with a lawyer who has his own interests involved, it’s probably gonna be a whole different tune.
