Someone finally said it. After Easter’s post and the civilization threat debacle, it’s past time that Trump needs help. It’s urgent. The things he has done recently are not the actions of a sane man. We are all well aware that his mind is going, but those have tipped him over the edge. He still has the nuclear codes. And he’s still humiliated by what happened with Iran. We flopped, although not for lack of trying. The world is now wondering what the heck is going on here. Indebtedness to Raw Story:
A former White House doctor has told Donald Trump he desperately needs to seek medical attention after a Truth Social post. Dr. Jonathan Reiner, who served as cardiologist to former Vice President Dick Cheney, took to X and urged Trump to receive an evaluation. Reiner wrote, “Earlier in the week, the president threatened to kill an entire civilization. Now he posts a video of a woman being beaten to death.
Thank heavens for someone who can come out and state things like that. Trump may flare up and attack him, which, unfortunately, is highly likely, but since Dr. Reiner *is* a doctor, he can state with authority what the rest of us can’t. Since he says Trump needs help, we can believe it. He’s able to say things that might (should) actually be listened to, where the rest of us can’t. It does make me wonder why Trump’s current doctors haven’t done anything.
“To put it mildly, that’s concerning behavior. If he was a member of your family you would urge him to see a doctor. He should have a medical evaluation.” Reiner’s post referred to a video shared by Trump to Truth Social earlier this week. Featured in Trump’s post is what appeared to be raw video footage of a woman being beaten to death by a Haitian with Temporary Protected Status.
That post was covered yesterday here. There are still a lot of questions about the situation, but the fact that he posted raw video of something like that is extremely unsettling. It’s also a bad sign. He’s off in his own little world. Who could possibly get him to listen? Anyone? And therein lies the problem. If he won’t listen to anyone, how will he get help? Does he even realize he needs it? If he doesn’t, that makes it even worse and more dangerous.
Reiner has criticized Trump in the past and commented on his mental strength several times, criticizing Trump for conflating the basic 10-minute dementia screening tool with evidence of exceptional intelligence. He previously urged the president’s advisers to “beg him to stop bragging” about the test.
We can hope that someone will listen to Dr. Reiner and do something. This is wrong. This is behavior unbecoming of the “president”. The 25th Amendment is out of reach since his ‘cabinet’, including Vance, won’t say anything to him or us. I have no idea what other “options” are available. What I do know is that this is a seriously sick man, and he’s going to destroy our country as well as try to destroy the world if he isn’t stopped.
See you soon!
Friends, I know everyone begs you for money. I promise that among all those asking for spare change, we are the smallest and the hardest-working. We’re a group of elderly, disabled people, except for one writer in his mid-50s. The rest of us are in our sixties and seventies, and this is a labor of love. All we’re asking for is the chance to keep telling the truth about Trump and help ensure democracy survives. If you can help, please do. Thank you. Ursula

The (his) rot has finally worked its way to the surface through via the fissures and fault lines in his base reptilian fibre, constitution, and character. Ultimately it’s going to get worse, until what’s left of his shell collapses under the weight of its own decaying and miserable existence. It’s essentially untreatable, so whats left?: assessment and appropriate secured care, perhaps.
If one person, with credentials, has the courage to speak out, maybe more people will. If enough noise is made about this, perhaps something will be done. I think it dovetails nicely with the impeachment talk.
In a normal family, there would be people who care enough to see that the person is assessed and taken care of. In the Rump family, there is no one who cares about him (and after what they’ve endured from him, why should they?), they only care about what he can do for them, money, property, power. My sister was diagnosed two years ago with dementia and I often see similarities: delusions, anger, negativity, irrationality. This man needs a strait jacket and rubber room before he kills even more of us than he did in his first term.
