The Republican party is hopping mad and looking for scapegoats. Ronna McDaniel is toast and Rick Scott is going up in smoke right along with her. Mitch McConnell spent $200 million dollars on Senate races that Scott told him were in the bag — and he winds up with a net loss of one seat? And the bad press that not since 1934, when Franklin Roosevelt was in office, has a sitting president held all the Senate seats? And you think Scott is still going to be standing? No way, Jose. Rick Scott is going up in smoke.

Walker’s defeat completes an epically bad cycle for Sen. Rick Scott (R-Fla.) as NRSC chair. Scott had confidently predicted a GOP majority in the 118th Congress, but instead Democrats netted a one-seat gain.

After publicly and privately clashing with Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell throughout the cycle, Scott challenged the Kentucky Republican for GOP leader. That effort failed as well.

The 70-year-Scott’s future is now unclear. He’s been seen as a potential presidential candidate in 2024. But with Trump already running and Florida GOP Gov. Ron DeSantis looking like he will too, Scott’s path to the Republican nomination appears shut off. Scott is polling in the low single digits in GOP presidential surveys. Scott can run for reelection for his Senate seat in two years, and he’s proven he can win tough races in red-friendly Florida. But it will be a McConnell-run conference for the foreseeable future, and there are a host of other Republicans ahead of him if Scott wants to try for Senate leadership again.

McConnell has not forgotten Scott attempting to topple him for Minority Leader. And he won’t. Mark my words, McConnell will wait and watch and the minute he’s got a chance to hurt Scott, he’ll strike like a rattler. McConnell is one of those people that if you’re going to take a shot at, you better not miss. Scott missing means that Scott did himself in.

The GOP is out for blood and particularly Rick Scott’s. Take a look at this.

And who is in control of “Republican strategy” and “candidate quality?” You got it.

Bye, Rick and Ronna. Maybe you can go open a store selling MAGA memorabilia or something.

  1. Mad Hatter: why is a raven like a writing desk? Have you guessed the riddle yet?
No. I give up, Alice replied. What’s the answer?
I haven’t the slightest idea said the Hatter.
Glad to spend a few minutes laying out the GOP strategy. Good news? They haven’t the slightest idea.

  2. Should have learned from Jeb Bush. The minute Florida governors get outside of Florida, their preferred MO no longer works. A similar fate awaits DeathSantis.

  3. Don’t underestimate Scott. The Dems need to.highlight his plane to.destroy Medicare and Social.Security. A lot of retirees in FL.just might not vote for him. Every ad should feature this starting in late 2023/ Hammer him. Ask why he hates old people. Ask why he wants people over 60to drop dead. Hound him.
