This could well be the most insane Republican nomination every considered since Donald Trump got the GOP nomination for president in 2016. And it could be as destructive. The big difference is that only the Republicans would be affected and the rest of us could kick back and laugh.
Mike Lindell is seriously contemplating running for chair of the Republican National Committee.
This all got started when Ronna McDaniel had the audacity to say that Joe Biden was legitimately the president. That got the election denying MAGA cult quite peeved and that’s where Lindell came in. Here’s Mikey with a status on how his campaign is going.

Trump is all in favor of this, which makes perfect sense. With Lindell in charge of the RNC, he won’t get any guff when he wants his legal bills paid. No, this would be a great thing to happen, from Trump’s perspective. Couldn’t be better, in fact. Can’t happen soon enough.

And what is this new set that Mike does his broadcasts from now? Remember, he used to have that set with Jesus and the lion on the wall, and they both looked depressed? What happened to that and where is this? Is he in a halfway house now and this is the common area? Inquiring minds want to know, Mike.
I honestly don’t think the GOP overall is crazy enough to go for this. Replace Ronna? Sure. But not with Lindell. Lindell probably has a (Dick) Cheney fantasy – as head of the RNC he will be Trump’s campaign manager. Which means he can also control the VP selection process and like Cheney did when put in charge of finding Bush 43’s pick he’ll suggest himself. And Trump would go for it!

Maybe Lindell’s hoping to skim off some of the RNC funds to shore up his MyPillow, etc, garbage. Every single commercial I’ve seen for Lindell’s junk has featured “deep discounts” on the prices and pronouncements of “limited supplies” so he’s got to be somewhat hurting for cash.
Yes, I know such an idea is illegal but, after all, we are talking about Republicans and issues of “legality” don’t always mean the same thing from one day to the next. (Just like how “deficits” are an abomination when Democrats are in charge but are a mere afterthought–if that–when Republicans are in charge.)
