I shudder to think of a civics class in this country where some kid tells the class, “Hey, guys, I know all about how congress members vote. They do it according to what kind of publicity it will generate against them.” Then the teacher would say, “That’s nonsense, Billy. Our congress members vote based upon facts and law and social impact.”
Then the kid would say, “Nope. Lauren Boebert said it. It must be true.” Now even if the teacher is a bit on the idealistic side, we can’t blame the kid if he hears a member of congress emphatically state that it’s all about publicity and attack ads, i.e., congress is about looking good on TV, nothing more, and he believes it.
