I believe this has to be another Trump era first: Unless somebody here can refresh my recollection of a previous time when a 1) former president of either party 2) journeyed to a state where that party was entrenched and 3) slandered the sitting governor, also a member of the same party, and his secretary of state (also same party) and then topped it off with 4) a claim that the voters of that entrenched party would not support the incumbent governor if he managed to survive his primary BUT would sit the election out — thereby allowing the other party to win, is the unspoken, but obvious, conclusion.
Have you seen this paradigm before? Anybody? Don’t be shy, we’ll take examples from history, from other countries, other planets, wherever you get your information. We seriously want to know if this was a political first last night.
And of course it gets worse. How can it not? Trump chirped bright and early this morning about what a raging success last night’s fiasco in Georgia was. Maybe he watched a different rally than we did.

Apologies to any fact checkers who just read this without warning. We know you fell off your chairs and we hope you didn’t hurt yourselves. For those of you who are still unconscious, we’ll apologize when you come to.
25,000 to 35,000?
It’s almost time for Trump to speak here in Georgia and there’s probably no more than 5,000 people here, the smallest Trump rally I’ve ever covered here. Way less than the Perry rally in 2021 (closer to 10k) and nowhere close to 2020’s 20-30k+ #gapol pic.twitter.com/lokIiFONFC

The reporter making the statement covers Georgia politics for NPR and other outlets.
As to “the surge” of Perdue, maybe Trump could show us that poll, since Fox News reports Kemp ahead by 11 points.
Granting for the sake of argument that the above crowd figures are accurate, Trump’s influence in Georgia is shrinking and we mean exponentially.
He went to Georgia last night with the intent of ramping up enthusiastic support for David Perdue and Herschel Walker and smiting his enemies Brian Kemp and Brad Raffensperger. It wasn’t called “the revenge tour” for nothing. And here is the result Trump wrought.

Donald Trump is like if Hitler didn't commit suicide after starting World War II and the Holocaust, then went around holding rallies talking about how great he was as starting World Wars and killing Jews.

Georgia Republicans right now are running around like a yard full of decapitated chickens. This is Trump’s version of leadership. Let’s see where it goes in the primaries this spring and let’s see if he tells his acolytes to sit out the November election. Maybe we’re looking at Stacey Abrams in the governor’s mansion. Wouldn’t that be nice?
And I have a fantasy that the first person she thanks will be Donald Trump. That is what they all deserve. As Lindsey the Prophet said back in the day, “if we nominate him we will destroy ourselves and we will deserve it.”

Was that among Lindsey’s last intelligent comments?
Hard to say. It might have been ” master, my knees, mouth & butt are sore. Can I get up now?”
But the Dems have to show up in big # because of all the voter suppression rules. They are hoping for a small # of Dems. Never be fooled by what he said, they will show up. Like in North Carolina. Dems have to be fully ready
1912 Roosevelt started his own party to blow up taft. Let Wilson win. Maybe not exactly the same, but some similarities
Parenthetically, I think Wilson was the first modern era republican president.
Trump’s definition of success; “Lots of people were cheering for me”.
Nothing else matters.
I’m not sure about the physical resemblance between Adolf and Don John – but he’s definitely posing as Benito.
