The Republican GOP primary for the open Senate seat in Ohio is getting very strange. I mean Wrestling Federation, Alex Jones, Jerry Springer kind of strange. Josh Mandel is completely ridiculous and this was bound to happen with him and somebody at some point. it was only a matter of time.
J.D. Vance has nothing to lose, so watch him to swing for the fences yet, as the Jerry Springer-fication of the Republican party continues apace.
Think I’m bluffing? Watch.

Apparently Thomas Massie was right. He said that the voters voted “for the craziest son of a bitch” on the ticket and that’s how he won. Maybe that is exactly who the GOP is in this day and age. Does anybody see any evidence to the contrary?
Jane Timken is ostensibly Donald Trump’s pick for the primary. She believes that she can “straddle the line between Ohio’s traditional GOP and MAGA. We shall see.
On Tuesday, [article dated March 3, 2022] the Timken campaign performed its balancing act again. It sent out a press release announcing the hiring of Corey Lewandowski — who was let go from Trump’s super PAC this fall after facing allegations of sexual assault — and David Bossie, a former Trump campaign official who was behind a recent RNC resolution declaring that the events surrounding Jan. 6 amounted to “legitimate political discourse.”
Then, hours later, the campaign put out another announcement: Portman would headline their campaign stops this weekend.
Trumpworld noticed.
“If you’re attempting to go after grassroots voters that are frustrated with the political process, that are frustrated with career politicians, that want some new blood — usually you don’t go campaigning with a career politician that’s retiring,” said a person in Trump’s orbit who is familiar with the former president’s thinking. […]
The Trump ally described Timken’s hiring of Lewandowski and Bossie as “a sign of desperation” and a way to “throw money at” the exercise of securing an endorsement from the former president.
The Ohio primary is a screaming mess. What’s next, throwing feces? Would anybody even notice?

In its odd way, this actually gives me comfort. If you’re THIS focused on theatrics, odds are excellent that you’re neglecting everything else you need to win.
WOW, if this is a sign of near future contests between various GOP dorks and THEN, going up against star Democrats when the times for final solutions are overnight schedules, the smoke and fire generation, if captured and properly stored for next winter, heating oil supplies could increase two-fold … 🙂
