History rhymes and here’s a piece of history that we never needed to see again, but we are anyway. Remember Joseph McCarthy and his infamous House Un-American Activities Committee, HUAC? Well, Mark Burns just loves him some HUAC.
He wants you to know that when he’s elected he’s going to bring all kinds of treasonous Americans to justice. The only problem is, he doesn’t seem to recognize that the worst traitors are in his own party.
Watch and be stupified.

Now if he wants to put Tucker Carlson and Fox News at the head of the list of people he wants to charge with treason and un-American activities, I am certainly all for that. I don’t think that’s what he’s talking about, however.
Burns is quite a piece of work. He falsified some facts on his profile, surprise, surprise, and then he got all miffed and stormed out of an interview when asked to explain. CNN:
A top Donald Trump surrogate admitted to falsifying some of his professional accomplishments after a contentious confrontation with CNN anchor Victor Blackwell.
South Carolina preacher Mark Burns, who regularly introduces Trump at his campaign events, had listed on his church’s website that he had a Bachelor of Science degree and served six years in the Army Reserve.
Burns, however, was never in the Army Reserve. He was in the South Carolina National Guard, from which he was discharged in 2008, CNN found.
As far as a Bachelor’s degree, North Greenville University told CNN he only attended the school for one semester. Burns admitted that he did not finish his degree when CNN asked him about it.
When CNN confronted Burns about the various professional and social exaggerations he had featured on his biography, Burns first said the page had “obviously” been either “manipulated or either hacked or added.”
But the site host, Wix, said there was no evidence of a hack.
“This is not fair at all,” Burns told Blackwell during the interview. “I thought we were doing a profile and all of a sudden you’re here to try to destroy my character.”
“I’m not here to destroy your character,” Blackwell replied.
At one point, Burns told Blackwell he believed the interview was off the record, to which Blackwell responded, “I didn’t agree to that.”
Burns abruptly ended the interview by walking away.
That’s what the Trumpites do when you ask them to be accountable, they get miffed and walk away.
Let’s see how Burns fares. I think South Carolina needs him like it needs a conga line of hurricanes, but maybe voters will be crazy enough to elect him. Take a look at who’s in the House and Senate already.
If I’m wrong and there is a heaven and hell ole Tailgunner Joe McCarthy is down there in the latter going through an extra special form of torture each day. On the one hand he can point to all these people in elected office, famous pundits and other positions of great power and influence and scream See? SEE? I TOLD you! Look at all these people who have supported Russia!” On the other hand however it’s his fellow Republicans he’d be calling out on TV and grilling in those hearings. It’s almost worth really trying to somehow regain a measure of the faith I lost so long ago just to be able to enjoy McCarthy’s special torment.
Alas, even if Burns’ wet dream were to become a reality he and his cronies would ignore all the Republicans and like McCarthy make up shit – against Democrats.
He can start with the MAGAts in Congress. They’re unAmerican!
Blackwell may not have been trying to destroy this one’s character but unfortunately for the McCarthy wannabe, often truth does exactly that.
I am almost interested in seeing this boob in office but the entertainment value would not be enough compared to the damage fools like this do to our democracy as that idiot from WI demonstrated decades ago.
