The culture war exists because a large portion of the population, maybe 1/3, believes in angels, demons and magic. And I’m not one to say they’re wrong, because I don’t know. There may very well be higher life forms such as angels. Logically, I would think there would be, because otherwise that would mean that mortal man is the highest evolved lifeform in the universe and I don’t think that’s the case. And maybe some of these angels fell from grace and became devils. That could be true, too. So these beings may well exist. And while I’ll stipulate to the possibility of their existence, the idea that they’re active, daily participants in the affairs of man and only the right-wing prophets know their will needs to be proven to me.
But then I don’t live in Wingnuttia. The latest newsflash from there is an update on the Holy War which is fueling the Civil War that the ammosexuals are dying to wage on the rest of us — but not yet, we are told in this clip below. Yea, verily, be of good cheer. This wingnut is saying let’s just rebel for now (mask dictates kicked this off, obviously) and we’ll start shooting later. To be announced, as it were. Or as Donald Trump put it, “stand by.”

They’re looking to put together a Holy War slash Civil War. That’s where all this nuttiness is going. That’s what the insurrection was on January 6. Let’s all go out in the streets and cosplay revolutionaries in the name of Gee-suss. And of course Trump keeps stirring the pot because it’s in his interest to do so.
Let’s see what happens this weekend in Washington, D.C. This may be another all hat no cattle cry to the faithful, like the rally in Kentucky last weekend that was supposed to attract 10,000 and was attended by 300.
One blatant statement after another, no end in sight– YET … with all the prep going on in DC, it occurs to me, a stirred pot by Trump right now, could become a slaughter at the Capitol, sharp shooters with REAL bullets posted all around the top of the Capitol and White House could easily make mince meat of those home-made Halloween outfits carrying their AR15 style guns and bandoliers of ammo, big hunting knives hung on their canteen belts, trying to tear their way through the setup fencing and run towards those buildings, maybe a few well-placed rubber bullets would remind them of their very unfortunate choice to join in an attack …
Never good in any case, things are unstable and teetering on another insurrection attempt, but it would collapse a lot quicker than last time … and with a LOT of in juries AND deaths to those who would dare to Trump their way ahead …
So many people who hate even the idea of doing small things that will protect themselves and others from a virus that can kill them.
If they won’t mask and get vaxxed, they should get burial insurance, so their families/friends don’t have to appeal for funding to bury them when the inevitable happens.
I have pre-paid for myself to be cremated after I pass from this world, AND I am vaccinated, two shots of the Moderna vaccine, and fully willing to get a booster if my doctor thinks it would be a good idea for me. I wear a mask when I anywhere in public too. This from an old white guy in Iowa.

Darrel, that “screw up caught by an educated report” won’t do a damn thing in the eyes of the “True Trump Believers.” It’ll simply be dismissed as “fake news.” How many times was Trump caught blatantly lying and flip-flopping in his speeches (sometimes not even 24 hours had passed) and all he had to do was call “fake news”–even when DOCUMENTED VIDEO EVIDENCE was shown proving Trump had actually said the stuff he dismissed as “fake news?”
Well personally, I do think there’s something to the angel thing because I have been in life threatening situations and I’m still here. And I suppose it only follows that there might be demons as if you give one space you have to look at the other. Now I don’t live my life in fear of either one. Whatever happens I don’t know. What I do know is that there’s to much that hasn’t been explained. I’m ready to believe the whole thing belongs to science just as soon as you explain things like the pyramids and the big pictures down in South America.
