Coats has made noise about Russian interference in 2020 and tried to put safeguards in place.
Nunes will throw open the damn door.
They really need to change the laws on “acting” appointments, so they require confirmation within 90 days. And they need to stop voting to confirm incompetents, even if the president wants them.
With this Senate? Fat chance.

If they stopped voting to confirm incompetents there wouldn’t be a soul running the government. Everyone the president picks is incompetent.
I sincerely hope that Devin Nunes does not replace Coats. We will be totally screwed.
If Trump by some fluke gets elected for another term I am seriously looking for another country to go live in. I just couldn’t take another four year of him.

The next Dem president should immediately appoint a slate of people the GOP will hate (Holder, Lerner, etc) as “acting appointments,” then send Congress a proposed law to limit the practice.
Hmm. I don’t know…if we move Nunes over to a temp job where he’s almost certain to fail (I mean…let’s be honest about what happens to everyone in the administration, lol) then maybe we nab his House seat…or some other Republican does and Nunes is gone.
