Sarah Huckabee Sanders just kicked over a hornet’s nest today. She released an ad on welfare fraud and was greeted with rancor over the fact that the ad featured a young white guy. MAGA lashed out with accusations that Sanders wasn’t showing the truth about welfare recipients.

Did you know that 42% of ALL BLACK HOUSEHOLDS are on some form welfare?
Yes, FORTY-TWO PERCENT.
Did you know 36% of ALL HISPANIC HOUSEHOLDS are on welfare?
Guess how many White households? Just 13%.

Interesting way to read a statistic. 42% of those on welfare might be Black but that does not read as 42% of ALL Black households are on welfare.
Sanders has been catching hell for this all day. She’s between a rock and a hard place. If she redoes the clip with Black people, then she’s caving to pressure to show a racist stereotype. If she leaves the clip as it is, then she’s trashing white people, at least insofar as MAGA is concerned.
