The person who spoke in this article is pretty succinct about Republican chances for the midterms. We all know what the problem is. If only they could take away his phone. He may scream more, but at least he can’t say something stupid at 3 in the morning. It’s like he never sleeps except for the daily ‘cabinet’. His ranting gets us in a *lot* of trouble. He has no idea what he’s doing with all his Truth posts. And his AI images. And so on.
It’s Trump, of course. He’s easy to recognize when you know his patterns. Kudos to Raw Story:
Kevin O. Igoe, a former Republican National Committee official and Reagan White House appointee, argued in an opinion piece for The Hill that Trump’s constant reversals and focus on subjects voters don’t care about are weighing down vulnerable Republicans “My prescription to help Republicans salvage at least a tie in the Senate in the upcoming midterms is for President Trump to sit down, talk a lot less and stay off camera,” Igoe wrote. “You and I both know that is never going to happen — not now, and not in 2028.”
“For my MAGA friends, it is time to understand that Trump’s gut does not rule the world,” he concluded. “If you actually want to win an election that is a referendum on Trump’s presidency, I suggest you get him off camera and take his phone away.”
Don’t we wish? There is a line in one of those articles that says “Trump is making himself impossible to ignore”. Republicans could very well crater if Trump truly keeps this up. Yes, we should be happy that Republicans are going to have a tough time in the midterm elections. But. It’s not fair to the new Repubs running for office. Otherwise, eh, whatever. Their loss is our gain, especially if Talerico wins. Oh, that would be a lovely sight to see.
Trump has gotten to the point where his memory is fading, and he’s out of touch with reality. Sending out screams on Truth Social. Ignoring Americans, us, and what we need. The economy is *not* in great shape. Vendors pay the tariffs and stick us with the bills. Who gives a damn about a ballroom, a triumphal arch, or a bowling alley? They’re supposedly fixing the Reflecting Pool, although we haven’t heard much about it for a couple of days. There was no need to paint it “American Flag Blue” because the color was too light. The whole thing was rushed and not done correctly in the first place. And you are probably tired of hearing about it, which is fair.
Republicans are in a tough spot. They’ve refused to help Ken Paxton. It will be interesting to follow along and see how he does. But the biggest problem overall is Trump. People are rapidly losing faith in him, including some people who have left MAGA. Those remaining MAGA natives are also a little restless. The question is: how to get his phone away from him at night? If only it could be done. But it can’t. Shut up and sit down, oh Donnie boy.
