This BOY is sneaking around, digging into people, *secretly*, to analyze their behavior and make sure it stands up to his manly macho man vision. And please let the flu outbreak (see Denis’s column here) kick him out of his position of Secretary of DEFENSE. None of this war crap. He failed on that one big time. Yes, it’s partly Trump, but he’s next on the list and deserves to be slapped down *hard*, preferably by a female in some high rank. His BS is not helping our military. It’s hurting it. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth ran a secret online search operation that effectively punished subordinates for behavior he has described as “woke.” The result of what the New York Times called Hegseth’s “war on diversity” had serious consequences for officers who were up for promotion. Hegseth and his top aides ordered the Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps to scour the internet for photos, videos or news articles that might draw his ire, the Times reported Friday. Then his own staff ran the searches again — to make sure the branches hadn’t missed anything, or tried to protect anyone.
This is some bullsht. Apparently, people can’t say anything, read anything, search the internet for anything, or Petey Boy could decide you were woke, and there goes your career. How in the hell anyone wants to enlist with him up top is really called to serve. Not knocking the military here, just knocking Pete Boy’s vision of the Armed Forces. Are women supposed to be manly men too, or should they just not bother joining? Because his religion supposedly plays a large part in his actions, and they think women shouldn’t vote. Okay, took a little side journey there. Back to the subject at hand, “woke”.
Inside the Pentagon, the flagged material was code-named “derogatory material” screening. Hegseth blocked promotions for at least 40 senior officers to general and admiral ranks this year. About half were women or members of minority groups. Officers who had spoken publicly about diversity or urged troops to get the COVID vaccine were targeted. Photos and articles posted on official Navy websites were turned into evidence against the officers they once celebrated.
That last sentence just hurts. Celebration is now evidence. It’s stunning. It’s an insult that Petey Boy could block promotions on the basis of being “woke”. He has insulted the people he didn’t promote. And what would you like to bet that his version of “woke” changes every day? He’ll always have an excuse. Why in the hail is this guy leading our military? Do people believe him? It’s certainly not something that encourages the will to be better, to try and earn a promotion. … struggling for words, here.
Rear Adm. Stephen Barnett, already a one-star admiral, was the Navy’s top pick to be promoted to vice admiral and run its global base command — more experienced than any other candidate, and fresh off three years cleaning up a catastrophic fuel spill in Hawaii that sickened thousands. Hegseth passed over him anyway, selecting the Navy’s third choice, after flagging Barnett’s years-old remarks on the importance of diversity.
Hegseth has made no secret of what he was after. At West Point last month, he told graduates that previous military leaders had been “woke and weak.” He declared at the Army War College in 2025 that “DEI is dead.” It was not clear whether Hegseth had the legal authority to pull names from the lists at all — Congress had entrusted that power to the service secretaries, not the defense secretary.
Yet another piece showing that Petey Boy is severely prejudiced, followed by he’s a moron, followed by he’s an arse. We can add to that list another time, because there are certainly some derogatory ones that he deserves. His attitude is unjust. He needs to look at the records, not the bullsht searches, just looking for excuses. That’s what it is. The military has to live up to Petey Boy’s impossible standards. Impossible. No one is perfect, including his makeup self.
