Amid the ongoing peace talks between Washington and Tehran, Iranian negotiators have recently enlisted the help of “senior psychologists” to help them navigate what they believe to be a pressing issue involving President Donald Trump, investigative journalist Jeremy Scahill claimed Friday, citing Iranian sources. “A couple of weeks ago, the Iranian side added senior psychologists to their negotiating team to review the communications that they were going to be sending to the mediators to give to Trump,” Scahill said during an appearance on the podcast “Breaking Points.”
THAT is a surprise, at least to our government. We’ve known about it since before he became president again. We’ve watched it. Trump’s degeneration is real. But we cannot act on it, and those in higher government won’t, so we’re stuck, innocent bystanders watching something we cannot change. He’s said two things recently that have put his aging on display. I don’t care about the American people, and I love inflation. These aren’t the sayings of a normal mind.
“They did that because the Iranians believe that Trump is legitimately mentally ill and is operating in an impaired mental state. And they didn’t say this as a joke; they didn’t say this with any lightness.” Trump, who turns 80 on Sunday, has faced renewed questions about his physical and mental health after reportedly dozing off during cabinet meetings with growing frequency. Observers have also noted bruising on his hands, swollen ankles and a rash on his neck.
Does potential dementia count as mentally ill? Or is it just classified under aging? Either way, he seems to be operating in an altered mindset. It’s challenging to parse out how to describe Trump’s thinking. And there should be an addition to the above. Why this hasn’t been included is either willful blindness or not enough as a factor in his health, which seems strange. How about all the late-night posts Trump is making, some of which make no sense? And more frequent than normal trips to Walter Reed? The extra scans and repeated cognitive tests? Shouldn’t these all be included? But then, not a doctor here, so this may be just blowing smoke.
“The [Iranian sources] said ‘we recognize that we are dealing with a mentally incapacitated individual and we’ve had senior psychologists work up a psychological profile of what they think is going on with Trump’s brain, and so we started to cater our messages by running them past senior psychologists before delivering them to Trump,’” Scahill continued. “And they said ‘we started to then see some progress’ – they almost talked about it in a clinical sense like they’re dealing with a patient.”
And that says it all right there. “We started to then see some progress.” They know, and the people of America know, that Trump is not, shall we say, mentally stable. The way people are leaving MAGA says this. And that’s just one sign. The two things he said are more. And he’s tanking Republicans. He is making an all-fired mess of the GOP. They’d be better off to cut themselves loose and do campaigning and fundraising and all those sorts of things on their own. It would be better than the Trump stone dragging them down. What we really need is Trump out of office, but that’s not happening. Just keep putting one foot in front of the other.

Yup, Congress should but won’t. His ‘cabinet’ should but won’t. So now we are stuck with a fat orange child who is getting worse every day and it’s disturbing.
Mary Trump said in one of her podcasts that his personality is not really changing. His loss of impulse control, which IMHO was minimal to begin with, is just revealing what was inside all along. If anything, I think he’s leaning into himself and just doing more of whatever he wants to do.
