We knew he would be worse than Noem before he was chosen. And the prediction was true. He has this bonkers idea that is one of the stupidest things we have ever heard. How on earth he came up with this idea is unknown, but it’s something else. It’s almost something “beyond”. With gratitude for Raw Story:
Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin appeared on Fox News late Tuesday to discuss plans to stop processing international travelers and cargo at U.S. airports in cities that refused to cooperate with the administration’s immigration crackdown.
See? He thinks this is something he can use to punish. Well, if it’s punishing, it’s for the whole country, not just for a specific city. The sheer quantities of what and who are coming through are stunning. And the people need the flights in their cities, not something half a day’s drive away. There are also the people who work at those airports. Is he going to find a new place for them? Or will they be stuck with whatever they can get from workers’ compensation?
“We are currently drawing up plans to say, listen, in these sanctuary cities where the local radical left Democrats aren’t allowing us to do our job and enforce federal laws,” Mullin told host Sean Hannity, “then we shouldn’t be processing international flights into their cities.”
Oh, brother. He has no idea how big it is. We can be fairly certain he hasn’t gone to an international airport and watched for even half a day. But no. He’s off in some fairyland where he thinks all that needs to be done is snap his fingers, and *poof* it’s changed. He thinks that the “power” of his position means he can do anything he wants. Bull. He’s going to fall into the same trap Noem did. He’s going to think big. He doesn’t realize it’s essentially impossible. All he’s going to do is make Trump happy with the idea, and he won’t be able to execute it. Then he has a pissed-off Trump.
“This plan is actively *insane,*” warned Aaron Reichlin-Melnick, of the American Immigration Council. “Airlines cannot divert large numbers of international flights from one city to another; they’d just have to cancel flights en masse, causing enormous economic damage that splashed waaaaay beyond a few big cities that were the target.” //// “‘No Preference shall be given by any Regulation of Commerce or Revenue to the Ports of one State over those of another’” U.S. Const. Art 1, s. 9, cl. 6,” quoted the widely followed Questionable Authority account.
BOOM. Constitutional information, there we go. He would be better off to take a good, hard look at his plan, because it’s going to be tied up in lawsuits for a couple of years, at least. And that is a marvelous thought. If it can be tied up until we have a Democratic leader, then it can just quietly go away. But in the meantime, Mullin is chasing fanciful ideas that he won’t be able to execute. We have flop #1, and he hasn’t been in office very long at all. It should be interesting to see what he comes up with next. We already know they are hiring more people for ICE. Ugh. We have a moron leading other morons.

Almost unbelievably, yes. They’ve done it again.
It doesn’t matter how deeply they scrape the bottom of the barrel, there;s always some more scum even deeper.
