That’s a really entertaining image, there. But what he’s under pressure about is no laughing matter. Some members of MAGA, and those on the far right, are pushing him hard. It’s a surprise he’s still on his feet. That movement, in a manner of speaking, is only giving him a few moments to get his thoughts organized, or what passes for thoughts in that head. And it’s increasing hour by hour. They want something, and they’re not relenting. My compliments to Raw Story:
President Donald Trump has remained defiant amid a wave of criticism from right-wing figures urging him to resume hostilities with Iran and walk away from peace negotiations, but according to Israeli-American academic and podcast host Shaiel Ben-Ephraim, that pressure may be gaining traction.
Gaining traction is an understatement. That pressure is already rolling into one giant hand, shoving Trump to do what they want and do it now. Look at what we discussed yesterday about MAGA. They’re increasing the force, particularly through social media. Even Laura Loomer is jumping on the really big bandwagon that’s going to roll over Trump. And this is not something we would expect. Trump doesn’t give out opportunities. Trump only thinks about himself, with the façade of caring about a few others. It’s a surprise that this is happening.
“I am currently talking to two sources I really respect. They are both telling me that Trump is backing away from the deal with Iran, likely under extreme internal pressure (i.e. Israel and its domestic allies in the US),” Ben-Ephraim wrote in a social media post Sunday on X. “This is a terrifying turn of events.”
It most certainly is! The more he gets pushed, the harder it will be for him. It’s more than internal pressure, remember? But there’s a downside to restarting the war. The Strait will stay closed, putting the world into a terrifying situation, if it isn’t there already. Iean has a whole lot of medium-range munitions and drones available. We have a Navy that needs to be rotated out. They’ve shot down our planes already. We have used up most of our Tomahawk specialty missiles, leaving ourselves dangerously vulnerable. Nothing we’ve done has accomplished anything for Iran. So, he might want to restart it? That’s going to make half the people happy, and half even *more* pissed off.
Amid the alleged “internal pressure” being placed on Trump to resume the war against Iran, Bloomberg has reported that the president has also faced significant “outside” pressure to resume the war, including from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and billionaire media mogul Rupert Murdoch.
Bibi, I can understand. Murdoch, not so much. But here’s the thing I’ve been holding onto until now. A few days ago, I read an article about Trump by a psychologist, which hit pretty hard. He thinks Trump wants to drop a nuke on Iran. And he could do it, especially when you think about the pressure from everywhere. He would love the explosions. I think he could do it. That’s even more terrifying. The figurative fallout could be swift and decisive. We could be isolated from the rest of the world, left to fend on our own without any help from anyone, not even our allies, who are already backing away from Trump and the US. Trump is what other countries think of when someone mentions America. Trump could drop a nuke. Let’s just hope someone talks some sense into him, at least about this. And just because I’m worried, you don’t have to be, too.
See you soon!
Friends, I know everybody begs you for money. I promise you that, of all the outlets bugging you for spare change, we are the smallest and the hardest-working. We’re a bunch of old, disabled people, except one writer in his mid-50s. But the rest of us are in our sixties and seventies, and this is a labor of love. All we’re asking for is the ability to continue our quest to tell the truth about Trump and help ensure democracy survives. If you can help, please do. Thank you. Ursula
