Gotta love these late-day updates. Mr. Comey was on a show and really enjoying it. Trump wants him in prison so badly, and now he has someone who managed to charge him. This court case is going to be educational, especially when prosecutors are going to have to prove malice. This is another shaky case over a picture. A darn picture. Thank you, Raw Story:
President Donald Trump apparently couldn’t stand watching one of his main foes laughing and having a good time on national television.
“Pathetic!!!” Trump posted on Truth Social on Saturday, along with a video of former FBI Director James Comey chatting it up with late-night host Stephen Colbert.
Y’know, Trump is watching TV because it gives him something to complain about. He’s always trying to be better than anyone and to crush his “enemies”. Seriously, now, that’s almost the only reason he watches TV, to have ammunition to rant and rave. He has to practice, after all. He has to perform for MAGA, not realizing they are seeing the man behind the image, and they don’t like him.
Comey walked Colbert, another Trump target, through the story about his famous “86 47” seashell Instagram picture. Trump is pushing for an indictment of Comey, saying the photo was a threat against him.
Trump fumed at Comey in another Truth Social post that came three minutes after Trump’s reaction to the Colbert clip. In the second post, Trump shared a video of Comey speaking on MSNBC and saying that he’s under indictment “for walking the beach with my wife.”
That’s about the size of it. It was a picture. Just a picture. This has been mentioned before, including by me. The prosecution will be having a good time. Ha. How in the heck a picture is a threat from a previous member of the FBI is beyond me (us?). Trump has to make it all about him. This is tedious.
“I don’t know how we ended up here,” Comey laughed. “But that’s the time we lived in.”
“Does anybody believe this guy???” Trump reacted in his post. “A Dirty Cop!!!”
Trump is running out of insults. That last post was lame. That’s getting tedious, too, because he’s recycling comments that are old and tired. It really shows how his mind is slipping away. He used to be rather creative. Now he’s beating many dead horses about his “enemies”. The Revenge Tour™ isn’t doing very well, no matter how he and his DoJ try. They’re getting pretty hopeless trying to drum up some sort of charge for an enemy that falls apart when you look closely at it, as judges will also do. And Trump will continue to find stupid or silly things to get angry about, so he can try to make himself look better than whoever it is. *Yawn.*

Unless there’s proof (beyond a reasonable doubt) that COMEY was responsible for creating the image, rather than simply coming across something that was already there, Comey’s got nothing to worry about.
It’s like a scene from the beginning of the Merchant-Ivory film, “Maurice,” where the young fatherless Maurice is walking along a beach with an older man (I can’t recall if the man was a teacher or a family friend) who’s been entrusted to give Maurice the proverbial birds-and-bees talk and, while they’re on the beach, the older man uses a cane to draw images in the sand of the male and female genitalia and how they, um, interact during sex (none of this is actually shown on screen; it’s all “talking heads” imagery) and, after the fairly dull/dry/professional talk/lecture, the pair walk away for a bit before the man realizes he didn’t wipe out the images and then we hear the sound of a woman screaming (obviously, she’s seen the pictures and they were a bit much for her sensibilities) and Maurice and the man sort of making a hasty retreat from the scene.
That’s probably what happened with Comey. He’s walking along and sees what someone else crafted and he just took a picture of it. (And you just know if a MAGAt had come across it and posted the picture, he would’ve captioned it with something attacking liberals and it would’ve spread far and wide through the right-wing propaganda machine. And Drumpf would’ve praised the “brave patriot” for uncovering another piece of “liberal TDS.” Then, in two days’ time, it would’ve been completely forgotten.)
Nothing I have seen says there was anything besides he posted a picture. If I remember correctly, he said he’s found this on the beach and it was pretty. We could see more lawyers getting disbarred if they manage anything with this “case”. They’re not gong to prove a damn thing. If they were I think we would know.
